I'm pretty firm on the side of "no ex-Sabres" when it comes to candidates, but while it's technically true in the case of Botterill, I don't really consider him one in that regard. I guess what I really mean is "no ex-Sabre folk heroes".

I don't see where an issue is arising? We possibly have 3 LHD, we need 3 LHD. If we sign Antipin and he is as good as the accolades that he seems to be getting in the KHL, then great, he plays top pair with Risto. We all know McCabe belongs on the middle pair, and Guhle is a rookie, so sheltered minutes on the bottom pair.

Risto - Antipin
Bogo - McCabe
Falk/Gorges - Guhle
Nelson- Austin

May not like Bogo or Gorges, but we're are stuck with them. A bigger deal may also go down this summer, but as of now I don't see our opening day roster being much different than this.

Trade gorges with one of are extra 2nd or 3rd rd picks retain some money if need be.

doesnt help that their arena is something like an hour and a half away from the city centre.

The arena isn't in the best place, I used to go see the Sabres play when they came to Ottawa, just getting out of the parking lot takes at least 30-40 mins. Been to a couple in Buffalo, and the arena set up is about 1000 times better then what we have hear. Me and my Dad stayed in Canada and the States, even going back over the border after the game, still beats Ottawas gong show of a set up.
Would like to see them get a new owner, someone like Pegula.

Really? haha well I didnt pay too much attention to the grades. I just liked seeing an abstract of prospects based on position.

Are you suggesting to pay someone a 2nd or 3rd round pick to take Gorges off our hands? Or, are you suggesting that we trade Gorges with a 2nd/3rd for an actual return? Because if it's the latter, Gorges has no value in this league, we won't be getting anything for him.

Its right off the 417 which is a major highway in Ottawa, from downtown its about 40 min drive without traffic, which never happens on gamedays.

Honestly, yes. I don't like the team at all (wouldn't care if they messed it up lol) but it would be nice to have an owner come in a do a fix up like Pegula did in Buffalo with harbour centre and canalside.
Just add some life to the City.

Gord Miller speculated that he thinks Sabres asked permission to speak to Dubas but Leafs said no. Just heard him on Leafs Lunch. But he was very vague so who the hell knows.

think that would be the package deal imo. Guerin gives you the name, respectability and boterill gives you forward thinking

nothing would beat the entertainment factor of hiring dubas/keefe from toronto though.

interesting. im not as high on Dubas honestly. I dont see him as a GM candidate yet
