I'm hoping we can add two top 4 guys - chilliard77
Does Antipin count?
Or 2 in addition to him?
That would be ideal, but tough to pull off
Also, something like that could push Guhle to Rochester (not a bad idea imo)
Brodin-Ristolainen
McCabe-Manson
Antipin-Bogosian(I don't think we can move him)
Falk
In this scenario,
Gorges could be easily bought out & Guhle starts in AHL |

If I remember right,
That was a really nice year for the McDonaugh-Girardi pair
And Karlsson was still not too great in his own end
No one would say anything like that now
Karlssson has gotten much better in his own end the last couple years |

I'd prefer two top 4 guys on top of Antipin/Guhle
I'd be super happy if we could get Brodin and Manson. |

Me too
Part of the reason I want is to hire a VP of hockey or whatever is Bc the new GM is gonna have his hands full with just making roster moves
It's probably not a 1 man job anymore
And with the timeframe he's walking into,
It'll be tough for us to expect as many moves as we all think we need |

if the russian plays the right side
perfect world ship out bogo and gorges
get a top pair to play with risto and another rd with upside, or a vet that can play second pair if the russian doesn't work out |

If Antipin plays the right side...
Then ideally:
(Trade)-Ristolainen
McCabe-(Trade)
Guhle-Antipin
Falk
Buyout Gorges, try to get Vegas to take Bogosian
Idk if we can get rid of Bogo though? |

it's funny because even though we have some guys we need to move, contract wise, Gorges is the least of my worries. He's only got one year left on his contract. If I had to put them in order, I'd put Bogo at the top, Moulson second, and Gorges 3rd. Though really, Moulson didn't bother me that much this year. I thought he played pretty well in a limited role. Just wish his cap hit was more in line with that is all. If his deal was the same length or whatever as Gorges, I'd probably put Gorges above him.
Really, I think the just need to find a way to get Bogo out of here. He's weighing the whole team down in a plethora of areas. |

Plus the combo of injury & poor play
I think we might have to sweeten it so much,
That I'd prefer just to keep Bogo on pair 3 & see if he can bounce back |

He also has a full no trade clause
I would feel much better about him on a lower pair but damn that contract...

Nope, that's gone. It was voided in the trade. Same with Myers |

The problem is that the injuries are a big reason the play is poor. He can be a serviceable 5/6 guy after he gets like 20 games consecutively under his belt. The issue is that as soon as that happens, he gets hurt and you start the whole process over again.
It's downright brutal. |

Pretty positive. It was confirmed sometime a few months ago that the teams both have the options to void the NMC/NTC once they made the trade.
That's why he can be exposed I believe.
Unless.... It just voids the NMC |

Are you suggesting to pay someone a 2nd or 3rd round pick to take Gorges off our hands? Or, are you suggesting that we trade Gorges with a 2nd/3rd for an actual return? Because if it's the latter, Gorges has no value in this league, we won't be getting anything for him. - sskkoo1
Yes to take gorges off our hands |

was just answering the question of whether he has it, regardless of whether vegas is interested.
Id just buy him out if there are no takers |

Garth seems to think Vegas owes Buffalo a favour so maybe they take Bogo. |

i suppose it depends how big the favour is. I still think they end up taking ennis. hope he can bounce back somewhere in their top 9 and his salary is lower than his cap hit. |

The "favor" that Murray mentioned was in regard to leaving a particular player unprotected and them not taking that player. I still think he was referring to Ullmark. He's basically the only guy they CAN'T protect but would probably like to. |

Yeah, I get that...
but what would we have to give Vegas (or whoever) to take him?
Is a 2nd enough?
Would they want a prospect too?
Or maybe more picks?
I just think the cost will be too high to move Bogosian
Hope I'm wrong though |

I don't see the point of buying out Gorges, he is on an expiring deal and we don't really have an issue with the cap this year. I don't see an advantage on spreading his remaining year over two years. |
