Buttons draft has us getting Glass. But he has Dallas taking a random d man, so who knows if that's how it plays out.
I'm thinking despite what happens ahead of us, we are getting Glass, Villardi or Middlestadt. Unless of course Benning (frank)s up and take a dman. - Scooby_Doo
1 of the 3 are guaranteed to fall to Van.
If someone goes off against the consensus and takes Rasmussen, Suzucki in the top 4. I would be calling Florida. Van 1st for Flo 1st and 2nd
If Heiskanen, Makar, Liljegren if 2 of the 3 go before Van's pick at 5. I'd let know Buffalo can have 5 for a same as Buffalo the 2nd to Van.
JB said in his interview that he thought there was 1 and 2. Then picks 3-5 were equal. Wonder if he still thinks 5 is that much better then 8 or 10. |

Whats ridiculous is out of 7 teams in the new system, toronto has been the only one unaffected, its hard to think its not rigged - phyllee
What is ridiculous is that somebody would comment on the outcome of a lottery without apparently understanding the underlying concepts of them.
If the lottery was rigged for TO, surely they would have won the one that gave them home-town boy McDavid (especially as they had the highest chance after 3 of 4 balls were drawn)? |

Vilardi/Mittelstadt are my first 2 choices, starting to lean towards Vilardi
Glass/Necas are my next 2 if the above aren't avail. Starting to lean towards Glass. |

The problem is no one trusts Bettman. There is nothing anyone can do . It doesn't matter if it is rigged or not. I am quite happy drafting Glass or Mittelstadt.
If it was reverse and you guys finished last and ended up drafting fourth there would be just as many comments about Bettman. The weasel can't be trusted. |

By trolling I assume that you mean "pointing out the logical fallacy of a statement" (much like others did)? |

True. That's the beauty and the curse of having a large and passionate fanbase - it doesn't take long before conspiracy theories are rife. I do think that having the lottery done out in the open would help to quell the rumours, but I can only assume that if there were any improprieties then the other 30 owners (who do observe the draw) would kick up one hell of a stink. |

They showed during the Washington- Pittsburgh game last night that the winning lottery numbers were 1-5-6-12 and that was the number combination Jersey had.
New Jersey Devils won the #NHLDraftLottery with a number combination of 1, 5, 6, 12. Canucks had 1, 5, 6, 11. Red Wings had 1, 5, 6, 13.
One different ball comes out and Van or Detroit win.
I think this is what pisses me off more that they are 1 number off first but they end up dropping 2 spots and picking 5th. |

Even if someone feels it is rigged it is harmless. THey talk about if for a couple of hours a year and can do nothing about it except Bettmanhatesus who puts aside two hours a day to tell us.
It will all be over tomorrow . |

Yeah, same with the McD draft - If I recall, after the first ball, Leafs had 4/14 balls that would have given them McD, and Edmonton had 1... and we know how that fell.
The new rules causing a drop of 2 or 3 spots is definitely rough though, but there's always some gems out there - just have to hope that JB can find them |

All things considered, I think Benning gets 'his guy' regardless of the slide.
1.Pat
2.Hisch
Then I truly believe one of Dallas/Avs takes Tippett, leaving us the benefit of taking the second best non-top 2 center, be it Mittelstadt, Glass, Vilardi (please no, please (frank)ing no to Vilardi ).
Personally, I think Benning covets Mittelstadt and with Jim's recent success in selecting guys out of the USHL/USDP/NCAA, he's the guy to take. |

Charlottetown got hammered by Blainville-Boisbriand, Armada.
Chicoutimi down 3-2 to Saint Johns
Miss destroyed the petes.
Erie can end OS this afternoon.
Regina up 3-2 over Lethbridge
Seattle also up 3-2 over Kelowna.
Side note for all of those huge on taking Cal Foote. Had a similar season to Lucas Johansen this year who was taken 28th by Washington last season. |

The draft has been set up this way for two years but already there's theories of why historically we can't win...??? You're going to lose position more than you're going to win, it's simply the way the numbers are against you.
Still pretty pumped with a 5th overall and 2nd in each subsequent round. |

I agree if the lottery was rigged, the Leafs would have got McDavid and the Coyotes, Matthews.
Kind of sucks to be LV and Colorado but that is how the numbers landed. |
