I will be so (frank)ing pissed if Benning takes a d man. It worries me that Tryamkin leaving makes Benning react and take a dman first this draft.
We need a centre, that is our biggest need. - Scooby_Doo
True. But we also need a top level Dman and Foote could be that guy. Need to move Tanev/Edler to get a pick from 10-20. |

Well thanks for agreeing to my point that there isn't really a point in tanking. - manvanfan
Sure there is, it gives you a good draft position. Anywhere in the top five gets you a better player than at #12, as a general rule of thumb. |

I honestly feel safer with the 3 4 5 picks . So much debate about Nico's drop in scoring and Patricks health. Give me a safe pick like Glass. - VANTEL
I have no preference anymore. |

Whats ridiculous is out of 7 teams in the new system, toronto has been the only one unaffected, its hard to think its not rigged - phyllee
Yeah......before 2016 the Leafs have never won the lottery despite finishing 4th-10th through many years.
They won when they had the highest odds...Yeah so rigged |

If I new how to put an image of a donkey on here, I would. The 5th player will be very good, better than the picks below it. tanking still got top5, you're comment lacks any tangible logic. hee-haw |

Name calling is very childish. It doesn't matter. 5th to 8th in this draft there doesn't look like a lot of difference. |

Definitely not rigged. There would be way too much fallout with other owners, we've got a lot of homers around here. Surely you're used to them from being on the leaves thread? |

Yeah im over that now, pissed vancouver didnt get a top 3 pick, my bad i brought up toronto and got you so rattled, and my point was toronto was the only team out of a total of 7 for it to work for them. Feel free to talk how good the draft is for toronto in your thread |

The thing I find odd about all the Foote hype on this board is that: if the kid were truly projected as the number one D-man everyone in this thread believes him to be, would he not be higher ranked lol?
At this point, he's what, the 4th highest ranked D after the Fin, Makar and the Swede? |

Jake Virtanen at 6th and Nik Ehlers at 9. Clearly picking higher gets you a better pick always. |

I still think Mittlestadt has a higher upside. |

only Vancouver and Colorado were guaranteed top5 picks, I'm not as happy as if we picked higher but I'd rather pick 5th than 12th like dallas would have if they lost. hee-haw! |

Get all the pieces together and then finally win the lottery and get a generational talent.
Some have been mentioning that the TML got too good too fast and now won't have enough depth. Only time will tell about that, they look like they have enough young talent and can add what they need through free agency or trades. - manvanfan
The problem is that generational talents don't come along too often, but get even a couple of elite ones and you're on the right track (as we saw with you folks reaching the final a few years back).
As for the Leafs, thy've got a better spread than many think, as we've really acquiring pieces since the Kadri draft. We got lucky on a couple of trades (JvR, Gardiner), picked out a couple of later gems (Brown, Leo), had some decent free agent signings (Bozak, Zaitsev). That said, that's the group that you have to really build up and allow to develop before then hitting it out of the park with a couple of high draft picks. |

incompetent managers and owners does not factor into the fact Ehlers should have been picked higher. You're just being a whiny female dog. |

So you can't spell Knew and you don't know how to insert an image (neither do I ) and you want to call someone a jack ass . You may want to rethink that

Sucks to move down, but they will gay a really good prospect. It's hard, but you have to be patient. I wonder if a deal with Vegas and the Sedins would be possible. |

In 2007 the Flyers finished last but lost the lotto to Chicago who finished 5th last, if you do this enough times it's going to go both ways for you eventually. |

The only way Sedins leave vancouver is to a contender, which even that is unlikely |
