While i doubt a straight up trade would get it done, in my opinion you both seriously overrate Hanafin and underrate Reinhart. Reinhart has the same draft stigma as Hanafin so using that as a point doesn't make much sense.

The only reason I'm over-rating Hanifin is because he is a defenseman and you are going to have to overpay. Carolina isn't giving him away for equal value, that's for sure, unless it's a Duchene for Hanifin swap or something likewise. And Reinhart is not equal value right now.
I'm not under-rating Reinhart, either after this season. He lowered his own value with a poop attitude and poor work ethic. You can have one or the other and get by but not both.
Personally, I wouldn't trade Reinhart at this juncture. He could end up being a guy who only hits 50 points a year, however -or- best case scenario, hopefully, he trends up after his second year like the Sedin twins, for example. Well. Fourth year in their cases. But if it takes that long for Sam, Buffalo will run him out of town. |
