Wow, you'd rather have no sports teams than this? I couldn't disagree more. I like knowing our owner has deep pockets and has invested way more than just money in our community. I also like that they want results for their money and are not content suffering mediocrity for the millions they give out. Ill take this over sixteen years of Regier and Ruff, for example....a strong owner would not have put up with their act for a decade and a half.
The pink slips may send a message that a job here is not just a meal ticket to potential executives and even to players.

I did not say that. I've said numerous times that the Bills moving would have been best for the city. Then our Billionaire owner could have invested his money and time into one team and made a bid for an expansion team somewhere in the near future.

But the rest of your post, I completely understand what you're saying, I just think that regardless of the message it could have sent, it's actually NOT sending a good message.

Pegula bought the Sabres, promised multiple championships, said management and staff wasn't going anywhere, then retconned that statement by firing them, hiring guys he was connected to and within 2 years had a guy up and walk out on the direction of the team. Lafantaine wasn't the most reliable guy to begin with but something ugly went down and we never got the full details.

Then he buys the Bills, and they're already on their 3rd coach and McDermott is calling ALL the shots, an completely unprecedented circumstance.

In the meantime, Russ Brandon has weaseled his way into both teams upper-management, numerous sources say he has Pegula's ear and while he sells tickets, both teams have performed no better than mediocre.

Add in two blatant tanks for high draft picks, a firesale of our prospects, a coach burning us, going on our 5th Sabres coach under Pegula and again, numerous reports that the organization is a poop-show.

Pegula promised multiple championships, quick results, stability, and to make Buffalo a premier destination for Free Agents. None of which have happened.

Add in all the management and coaching changes between both teams in such a short time, being burned by free agents and coaches and draft picks alike and the very very short amount of time all of this has happened in and the pick slips don't convey a message that "I want results, this isn't a free meal ticket" when both teams have been an absolute mess since he bought them. Not to mention your idea that it says meal tickets aren't free also is a flawed argument since he's paying multiple guys to not work for him, both coaches and players.

Ville Leino, Christian Erhoff, Tim Murray, Dan Bylsma, Rex Ryan, Ted Nolan(?), etc...

He's fired well over 100 people in a span of 5 years. That's ridiculous.

If I'm anyone from outside the organization, I'm staying as far the (frank) away from Buffalo as possible right now.

They're from Buffalo, and I know people who know them, so I'm supposed to like them even though they're not very good, right?
- Wetbandit1

To each his own, ive been to enough of their shows in my time that they will always be one of my favorite groups. This videos is there tribute to our little frozen tundra.

7 albums, countless warped tours , and sold out christmas shows 5+ years running.

I mean, I get that I'm negative but I'm not drinking the Pegoolaid. Sorry. The only thing we know about the future is that it happens. I'm glad so many people are optimistic but the past 5 or 6 years have been exactly like the past 50 or 60 as far as being a Buffalo fan is concerned.

Pegula is 100% running this team (and the Bills) like a fan would. That means like an idiot.

I won't be happy until I see results, just like Uncle Terry, I guess. But he is a perfect example of how NOT to run your sports franchise so far.

with Scott Darling going to Carolina, does Buffalo look at someone like Eddie Lack? He might be cheap in a trade with an expiring contract especially seeing MAF price tag skyrocketing with every game?

Who says he doesn't? As bad as that trade was, it's now a sunk cost. Unless he wants an absolute albatross of a contract, Lehner is your goaltender going forward, unless you can find a better one for next to nothing.

I know the sound kind of really sucks, but seeing the guy play makes it that much better. The fact that he picks like half of those notes and doesn't just sweep the whole time is crazy.

Other expansion teams took on average 3-4 goalies in their expansion drafts, so I guess we have to ask ourselves is Ullmark one of the 3 or 4 best goalies who will be available to Vegas? I would assume their starter will be a vet, so Ullmark will have to be one of maybe 3 others who will be chosen. I'm not sure if he even makes the cut for them.
