Who on the Blackhawks is worth a top 3 pick in any draft? - kingcong39
Kane easily, what? |

I can't express in mere words how happy I am that for the first time in a decade the draft lottery is meaningless to me. |

Oh, I couldn't quite make out who it was in your avatar. Yeah, you guys have to be pretty happy. I'm happy not seeing you guys in the lottery as well. |

And Reinhart was supposedly in a very weak draft as well.
Not trying to pile on Sam, but we have exactly 1 player worth a top 3 pick in any draft, and that's Eichel. - sbroads24
im not trying to say reinhart is going to be better than whoever is taken 3rd, just that for some teams a player who's already played in the league is a little more valuable than a rookie.
Im working off the assumption that said team values reinhart |

What's with the Sabres anyways? Talent all over the lineup. They should be better. Start winning immediately. |

GM didn't know how to value defensemen, sent a punch packing, brought in a few that stink. Ignored the defense at the draft for the past few seasons. That's really it in a nutshell. Hopefully the new guy will get the rebuild back on track. |

How's Sekera been? I always liked him and felt we should never given him up. |

I know what McKenzie has said, but I've read people who have said Patrick is a for sure #1 center. |

I love Reggie. He was stellar in providing stability while Larsson and Klefbom figured things out. He's on the 2nd pairing now but scored the opening goal last night and had a psychotic smile on his face when giant Getzlaf was ragdolling him at the end of game 1. He's a beauty.

No freaking way... Hanafin has proven what exactly? - sskkoo1
What has Reinhart proven?
Fact of the matter is, young, high drafted defenseman are more valuable and you have to overpay for them. Especially if they're under 25 still. |

Well, Beady's suggestion was Reinhart, a top 3 pick in this years draft, and then adding on top of that for Hanifin. To give up that much I need a defenseman returning in the Doughty, OEL, Karlsson conversation. - sskkoo1
And I highly doubt you'd get any of them 3 with Reinhart and 1st without adding ++ |

i think he's a 60-70 pts in his prime guy which means hed have to be elite defensively or a pure scorer to make it work as a #1 centre.
I dont know if hes either, he might be great defensively. |

Yes, they're valuable, but Reinhart, a top 3 pick in the draft, and more for a guy who is unproven? Come on? Reinhart averages 20 goals per year so far and 45 pts. Put him at center and he'll do better. Hanifin will be good, but that is a HUGE over payment. |

If we are doing both and adding then yes. No team would part with any of those players (most likely) so it's a nonissue, but yeah for that type of return I would want someone who's in the All Star game next year. |

Not enough to warrant a top 6-9 pick and a former #2 overall with promise and proven success. If I am trading away both it will be for a much more solidified defender in return. - RhinoFan
Proven success? Uh. Not really. Not even close.
Reinhart: 90 points in 167 career games
Hanafin: 51 points in 160 career games
As a forward, Reinhart should be at the very least DOUBLE the points total of a denfenseman, especially since D take longer to develop.
If Reinhart is proven, so is Hanafin. Neither of them are proven but there is no way Reinhart alone gets you Hanafin and adding a 1st doesn't help Carolina because they also need to think about the cap, since they're actually almost BELOW the cap right now.
Holy (frank)ing overvalue a guy who's been invisible in more than half the games he's played in. |

Sure, and I didn't specifically say it had to be any of them. But if we have to pay Reinhart, a top 3 pick, +... than, yeah, it's going to be one helluva defenseman coming back. |
