Gudbranson has not shown himself to be a top four dman, yet, I'd like to see him where Stecher is.

I expected the worst from the lottery. Honestly if you're not picking top 2 who cares who's chosen because its a toss up for who ranks from 3-10. Chances are we're taking Heskainen.

The issue with that is how horrible him and Hutton played together.

Bieksa was infuriating to watch. He was more of a personality so it covered up all of his defensive mishaps but he was god awful.

For sure. His past few seasons here were very difficult to watch. The knee and body sliding blocks on 2/1's and could not make a first pass to save his life.

I don't think he did, he had a good playoff series but was propped up by others in the top four. Campbell & Mitchell. Which to me says he's not a top four guy. He was awful this year in Vancouver, hopefully he's better next season.

Meh, he scored 25 pts in 42 AHL games this year. He'll get back to camp a year older and stronger. Maybe another year until he makes the full transition.

I was never high on McCann so I was indifferent on it.

30 games I'm not sure is enough to assess Gudbranson here. Willing to give it this season as he should be way more familiar playing with Stecher Hutton and even Edler Tanev if they are still here.

He was injured for 90% of his time on the team. I'll pass judgment on him a few months into this season. I am glad Benning is going to sign him for 1 year before determining if he is worth a big contract.

I was called out for sure when it happened. I understand why it happened, giving the fragile fan base a bone to chew on while management figured out what was going on, but they both never looked ready, and in all fairness, it wasn't fair to them to have them play up. Either way, I just see it as a reason for where they are now, not to say they would be playing in the NHL if they hadn't played their first year up, but I think it definitely hurt them as far as development.

I still stand by the fact that Virtanen (IMO) is not a bust. 20 years old, its WAY to early to call him that. Same with McCann. I think they can still be good players.

Shinkaruk on the other hand...
