Coming from a Flames fan it gives more credence this player may be dangerous offensively and something to covet. The lame picture retort confirms that the pre pick mock puts some angst into the possibility. - Nuck4U
I don't think it's a good idea to draft Mittelstadt. His highlights are almost entirely plays where he was given way too much room. Even then he's not that quick in his execution. Not trying to troll you or the broom guy.
He's not your prospect, don't be so defensive. |

So your assessment is that he doesn't play well in traffic and is slow to make plays?!?
Wonder what these scouts are on to miss all that watching his games
Edit: Were you one of the guys to start this he's going to stay four years in college and then sign in Minny rumor?!? I remember hearing the same with BB. What's with the NCAA knocks cause the guys didn't come from the CHL. |

Vegas could move up to #3 if they trade with Dallas and eat one of their goaltenders, just sayin. There's a lot of possibilities this year! - LeftCoaster

If you were Homer would you trade Nico or Nolan for Edler ? I doubt it. - VANTEL
No not just for Edler no way. But Tanev I bet would be attractive to PHI…they may have some decent D prospects but they are years away. Tanev could give PHI something they sorely lack right now. No Tanev alone would not garner a 2nd overall but I'm sure there would be a way to entice the deal. |

Fair point. Bet on the high school player from Minnesota with your top five pick.
Scouts are always right about top six picks after all. JV, Dal Colle, and PLD say hi.
And no, thats not my assessment. I said he's not that quick and looks good with a lot of space. Don't know where you pulled that assessment about play in traffic. |

Times have changed. I don't see BB as a bad pick. Actually scouting has no consenus on 5th pick. I just didn't understand why Mittlestadt wouldn't be considered there and was bashed.
Not that quick and looks good with a lot of space makes no sense. Did you consider he's creating space because he's quick? |

I considered the possibility and rejected it because my eyes were telling me otherwise.
I should point out that I'm not trying to insult the Canucks at all. Just disagreed with a person's opinion on a prospect.
There's players that end up high on lists every year that don't work out, so it's not completely asinine he might be a bad pick. |

Good read on Glass.
http://theprovince.com/sp...lvr.it&utm_medium=twitter - VanHockeyGuy
Yeah I give Glass an RJ light comparison right now. I think Nolan is more RJ mold.
Anyway, Glass makes sense for JB said the 5 guy he likes not quite NHL ready. Which is where a 179lb 6'2 kid who needs to work on 3 step stride would be.
Though he's still growing I heard. Dad 6'5 and brother 6'7 taller and bigger. Agreed with DCT hope JB is talking to family about growth spurts! |

Didn't have any part in that. That said, drafting players in the first round going into the NCAA is a move that rarely works out. I'm sure you guys can remember plenty of examples as Vancouver has done that a decent amount in the past.
Can we name three players in the NHL drafted in the first round out of Minnesota via the USHS that didn't play for Shattuck St Mary's? |

The scouts say Vilardi’s game is reminiscent of Marian Hossa. This is a stylistic comparison only though, not a projection based on skill level.
But being big and not a hitter Vantel will say Guance. The issue with Vliardi is his skating and he really plays RW. A power forward that will use his size to make plays, protect the puck or set up in front of the net.
I'd prefer Nucks go for a higher hockey IQ center. Respected Mock drafts have Vilardi going to Stars, Avs and Yotes. So who knows cause they may take a D or Glass and Mittlestadt instead.
That's the rub it could go Nolan, Nico, Glass, Mittlestadt and then JB has to decide on Vilardi or top D. Sound familiar like last draft |

Wow, I was watching a bit of the Anaheim, Edmonton game, boy you better not even glance at McDavid or there's a penalty....pretty (frank)ing sad... |

Defence is the exact opposite of what Philly will be looking for. Their D prospects are imminently coming to the NHL. They're not years away. Morin, Sanheim, Hagg have all spent multiple years in the AHL and got a game this year in the NHL as a tease for the fans.
Ghost, Provorov, Morin, Hagg, Myers and Sanheim leave the Flyers needing everything BUT defense. |

He just tied the game with solo effort on 3-0 comeback
Edit: 4-3 Ducks now. The goalies making this game unpredictable. Far from over . |

Anyone have a reliable reference concerning the 'rumors' that Mittelstadt wishes to remain in college for the four full years?
