I like this comparison and I hope we get him. Any idea who Vilardi's NHL comparable is? - Bakwas
Cody Hodgson - I watched Vilardi play a bunch of times this year and he was absolutely terrible every time. Brutal skater, totally invisible, I have no idea how he put up the numbers he did. Avoid him like the plague.

Defence is the exact opposite of what Philly will be looking for. Their D prospects are imminently coming to the NHL. They're not years away. Morin, Sanheim, Hagg have all spent multiple years in the AHL and got a game this year in the NHL as a tease for the fans.
Ghost, Provorov, Morin, Hagg, Myers and Sanheim leave the Flyers needing everything BUT defense. - walshyleafsfan
no kidding. i was baffled by that as well. |

He just tied the game with solo effort on 3-0 comeback
Edit: 4-3 Ducks now. The goalies making this game unpredictable. Far from over . - Nuck4U
this series looks slow compared to the pens capitals series. |

Invisible player that put up over a PPG. That sounds like a player I want as a core player for the future.
I'm not trying to be mean but I think all this means is that you only see the flashy parts of the game and not the little things that make top quality NHL players. |

Anyone have a reliable reference concerning the 'rumors' that Mittelstadt wishes to remain in college for the four full years? - Whiskey-Tango
No problem, move on to the next player. Let his stock drop until he falls to his hometown team. |

Lots of guys put up decent points in junior, take Gaunce for example, he was a Ppg player his entire OLH career - how's he doing in the NHL?
And I know you're not trying to be mean but with all due respect you know nothing about me, so don't try to pretend you know what I see when I watch games.
Btw, How many games have you watched him play in person? |

This is what could happen as laid on previous page. So if no real top C available then it's forward or D.
I see Tippett as better scoring forward then power forward Vilardi. Tippett RW is in BB mold and faster or better skater.
But then I think JB may go with D instead if the C's are off the board. Heiskenan, Makar and Liljegren or Foote all rate as potential top pairing D with offensive games.
So if all the C is gone go with D forget the forwards they are not elite enough to take with 5th pick. |

I watched him play two games only on TV and my thought was do we really want this guy ? Why - VANTEL
I was pumped to see him play, the first time, he was playing with Addison, and my jaw dropped the first time he went up the ice, it was as though he had a bag of rocks strapped to him, everyone was out skating him.
Second time he was mediocre, he play some decent plays but nothing special, considering the Spitfires were a decent team, I'd say 7-8 other players stuck out much more than he did.
Third time, I didn't realize he was playing until the third period, my buddy said "hey wheres that Vilardi Kid?" I spend the next 5 minutes looking for him, I had actually forgotten he was on the team.
Now I admit clearly he's putting up some points so he's doing something right, I just have yet to see it. I wonder what his 5-5 and PP numbers are? |

Zero. Saw him first round of the playoffs and a couple games on TV. Gaunce should have never been a first round pick. Reid Boucher destroyed the CHL but he can't do any of the little things.
Ryan getzlaf was under a PPG in his draft year.

Getzlaf played on a trash team
Boucher had some nice linemates
That's why you have to factor in these things when evaluating players. How much they play, who they play with, team's style of play, etc.
And i'm sorry, but you don't have attend games in person to evaluate a player. I can see on my television that Horvat and Tanev are good and Megna sucks. |

8 pp goals 10 pp assts. 43 even or short handed points. Second highest ppg for Windsor. Ahead of Logan Brown. Lead Windsor in playoff scoring.
I would say the only reason why Windsor was in that first series was Vilardi. He's never going to out skate anyone but neither is Mark Stone. |

Getzlaf dominated junior hockey. Probably one of the most dominating players I've ever watched in junior hockey. |

As disappointing as yesterdays result was i'm comfortable with whatever pick JB makes. If the C's he covets are gone i'm sure he'll take the same path he did last year (D). In that event how about trading down a spot or two? What's that worth? |

I'd be fine with D. Can never have enough. If the F u covet isn't there, then take the D. they are more valuable. This is certainly not a Seth Jones draft. But, when he fell to the Preds they jumped on him. Even tho they wanted a C. Eventually, they turned Jones into a C. |

Two years in a row in the 5 hole with the top D pick in the draft. I'm okay with that as well, but at some point that C issue needs to be addressed. |

No you don't have be at the games, but you sure as sh$t see a lot more of the little things - when you can focus on whatever you want and truly follow someone, whether it's behind the play or when cameras only focus on each zone, you miss a ton of game play on TV. Some guys here base all of their "knowledge" on YouTube highlight packages. All I'm saying is watching teams/players in person can be a better way to evaluate.
