No chance Nico Hischier is the next Patrick Kane, that's not a slight to Hischier either. Look at Kane's draft year, in 74 combined regular season and playoff games, he had 176 points. Patrick Kane was a full point better per game than Hischier.

You can take Jonny hockey if you want instead. But the only real difference between kane and hischier I see is kane shot is significantly more powerful.

That actually is pretty spot on. Nice. I know that my previous post sound aggressive, wasn't ment to be. Just that when Kane was being scouted he spent time in the USDP and then the OHL. Then stepped into the NHL and was almost a PPG player as rookie. IDK if Hischier is going to be able to do that.

Exactly I love how this is the weakest draft in years and people are comparing Nico to Patty (frank)ing Kane, one of the best players on the entire planet But Patrick is Jordan Staal 2.0 or Travis Zajac.

I'm torn on what the devils should do in the second round. Two picks, do they go for d or forwards? I'm also intrigued by Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen.

Maybe take a goalie, preferably Luukkonen and a D?

Or trade those to get a first and grab foote?

Why do we need another goalie though ? Blackwood was pretty unreal the last half and the jumps he has made each year I could see him being one of the top goalies in the AHL next year and lets not forget he is a late bloomer he didn't start playing goalie till a very late age. I hope if we use them that we hit on some guys with serious upside or package them to move back into the first to take a D man that has fallen or forward. I am also not against using them to bolster the NHL blue line and then maybe we can move a guy like Merril just to replenish some later picks and get him out as I think we have seen enough of this guy to know he isn't part of the plans in the future.

Luukkonen might be the best available by one of their picks, also you can't bank on one goalie in the pipeline, better to be oozing with potential at that spot. Having a lot of talented goalies is a good thing.

I am pretty High on Patrick so I am going to defend him but Ill be happy if we choose Nico. I just think that they are equal at best and flashyness doesn't always transition into the NHL as easily. You can say he played against me in the swiss league all you want but comparing a soft euro league to the NHL is ridiculous when you are talking about a smaller skill player being able to grind it out and be gritty but will he be able to bump by and through real nasty players that are NHL caliber and size ( I imagine the average size of an NHL player is a good inch and couple lbs larger then the average swiss league player ) and Obviously their are guys who have done a hell of a job and carved a nice path for themselves like Johnny hockey and Marner ect ect but If It was up to me I would go with my gut and MY gut says Patrick. That doesn't mean I am not wrong but that would be my direction and I would happily be able to live with making it.

I just don't think the Goalie market is going to come back to life for a while. There are two many good goalies and not enough teams it seems. Alsoo not banking on just him I am still pretty big on Wedgey and Applby as been pretty well to cnsidering they are all under 25 I don't see a need unless Kinky or Wedgey aren't brought back and I think minus the injury they both deserved to be ( unless you can get a good return for either of those guys as they would be the two I would considering ditching one of just to make room )

Exactly and that doesn't make it right especially if there is a better player sitting there but like I said I don't believe there is a better player and at best there is an equal one so for that case I go with Patrick. Now if eichel was more of a devil the Mcdavid I wouldn't let that stop me from picking Mcdavid but I just don't see any difference for me to not make that decision.

You put him on any one of the 31 NHL teams and they make the play offs and that's (frank)ing crazy to say I know because Vegas will be bad but he is literally the equivalent of someone playing nhl one beginner and just doing literally anything and everything you want lol

Or they could use a possibly first line winger to net themselves a 2-3 d-man like... say... Noah Hanifin?

They don't need to get way smaller though... I could see Skinner and Drouin creating some magic but I could see them get pushed around a lot.

I'd veer towards getting aggressive in trading for D, I have a feeling the draft itself will be quiet from a trades perspective because a lot of it will happen a few days prior before the expansion draft.

However, if we do draft Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and he ever plays for us, I say we sign a petition that Cangialosi has to say his full name anytime he makes a save.

Really good offense is hard to discriminate.

I do know something: we don't have a Noah Hanifin.

Carolina should have traded back in the draft that year... they made just as bad of a mistake as I think we might have. They probably could have snagged up Hamilton from Boston for that pick but decided "naaah"...

Kovy + Zajac + 2nd for Sergachev, Pacioretty, and Plekanec

(This is a joke suggestion, Montreal wouldn't in their right minds do this and get older)
