Another reason to not draft Mittelstadt. IF he does stay all 4 years in College, could possibly will the Hobby Baker award.

Rumblings out of Avs land they are trying to sign this years Hobby Baker winner Will Butcher but haven't come to terms yet and strong possibility it isn't going to happen. 2 Hobby Baker winners in a row to screw NHL teams.

Hobey Baker is one of the most overrated awards. The entire thing is a popularity contes

[quote=NewYorkNuck]Ya that was pretty bad having to come back out and reverse the call, but I think they've done a good job tonight. It's funny reading through and seeing how much they think they're getting screwed with calls/noncalls. Super whiney, it's weird.

I went in just to talk about the call, and they turned on me. This was my fave:

"I'm taking my ball and going home!" :lol

I don't know the whole rumour or who said it or if it's true or anything. Something JB and TL will find out when they interview him.

He may be a goofy moron who knows.

I'm wanting either Vilardi or Glass anyway. Both are RH center man and one of them will most likely be available

George McPhee won a Hobey Baker so that tells you a lot about it.

Or he can just wait 4 years and choose whatever team he wants.

Then JV has matured and welcomes him to the league with a thunderous open ice hit that knocks him out cold.

- manvanfan

Why would he chose a team that sends him to the AHL ?

Yes, but not many have pulled that stunt. That rep sticks to you through your career. Not a good way to start it by shafting the team that drafts you.
- bloatedmosquito

It seems more and more are doing it. That BC kid drafted by NJ forget his name hasn't signed for Jersey yet.

Didn't they look at it to make sure the net wasn't off ...then once it was ruled a good goal the caps challenged for goalie interference ...why is this confusing to pens fans

Kevin Hayes and Blake Wheeler are among the few former first rounders to not sign with their drafting team. I highly doubt Mittlestadt would do the same given the money on the line that comes with a potential top 10 pick

Not really. But has there been any movement by JB and gang that can get you excited about this rebuild? Brock Boeser? There's only so much circle jerking you can do over Brock. We need more.
- bloatedmosquito

No there hasn't, there's not really a lot they can do when you suck like we do. Fans wanted a rebuild, they got it. No shortcuts.

It's just going to tough for them to sell tickets for the next couple of years.

Glass is a little more realistic at 5, I do see colorado taking a d-man though so we likely have all the centers other than Vilardi, nico and patrick to choose from. Who do people want most out the remaining? I'm happy with Glass or middlestadt i think, Necas also seems pretty good.

Huge flags if there's the slightest suggestion he'd do that. See ya top ten.

Is Vilardi supposed to go before we pick? If so, fine by me.

I've researched it and there's nothing I can find that he's said publicly to that effect.

Zach Hyman
Justin Schultz
Jimmy Vesey

Soon to be Will Butcher by the sounds of it.

Alexander Kerfoot that's his name drafted by New Jersey.

Exactly, you forgot his name. The NHL and owners have a habit of making sure you get what's coming to you.

I saw a really good article about Kaepernick being blackballed by league owners for disrespecting the anthem. Very conservative bunch owners are. Don't (frank) with the system they built...

Eichel might've been the last deserving winner. Gaudreau and Kariya would be some others. Mostly goes to a Senior

No, he's staying in Utica to be a powerhouse with the rest of Van's prospects.
