It seems to come down to living up to potential. Making the adjustments to up your level and advance your game. Those that have set backs. Hello Draistl. Can recover. It doesn't mean it's over. Let's hope JV. But the NHL is unforgiving to those who don't get it and keep it going. Goldy on the clock. BB and Dahlen seem to separate based on their maturity. I would put OJ there. It's the physical side they have to prove ready for now. - Nuck4U
Draistaitl and Virtanen are no where near comparable. LD was always a blue chip prospect, JV may have been considered it for a while after his draft but has since lost that status |

Yes all part of the upgraded package. He's a modern coach with players feel for the game. It's still tough sledding for him. It's not just the players and integrating youth challenge. We'll see if he can employ a system that adjusts to the changes from game to game. It's brutal how punishing coaching can be pounded at the NHL level. Competition is unrelentingly not forgiving with the slightest of error or misapplication. - Nuck4U
certainly a major upgrade behind the bench. See how far he can take it |

Drouin Glass and Hague would be a nice haul for 2017 adds - VANTEL
its also possible with the variance in draft listings that patrick falls to 5th too. Not perhaps that likely, but possible. He has fallen alot in certain rankings.
Drouin, glass and hague sound great though. Drouin, mittelstat and hague as well |

I didn't compare them as players at all. So you are off with this take. Mentioned the first as an example of player set back and return to fill potential. The other as not a write him off yet and needs to show getting it and showing advancement. |

Were hoping he slides, as we have 33. bit of a stretch but stranger things have happened. |

Yes but he'll get slammed as a rookie coach who isn't cutting it if team has a 7/8 game losing streak early on. |

I think one of the nice end of draft d-men will slip due to need over BPA picks, hopefully colorado is thinking d with their first and forward or goalie after. fingers crossed! |

Draisaitl was always miles ahead of Virtanen. |

I am not a fan of the top D in this draft. Would prefer as BPA the Centers and Forwards available in top 10. Good chance other teams might as well. Given longer projection of NHL readiness for D can see possibility one of the top 1st round group slide down. |
