Before the season, Nashville was ranked high even to win their division. Bergervin caught a break from the trade uproar when Preds sh!t the bed on the regular season. But not surprised that they have a "Kings" type turnaround into playoffs. Habs issues are at center and that's really where the fans will howl the GM on.

The trade in general makes little sense for the Canucks anyways as they need to get picks for Tanev

The avs could just try to add through free agency instead of trade as well

Sedins retire after next year.
Other moves r made eg more cap space for picks or prospects.

Duchene @6m per year is 8% of the current cap space.
At his age & the speed he has idk if its all that big of a hit but its not a stand alone deal & requires more longterm & short term planning to be done.

Then they could sign UFA E. Kane and year after try Dutch if he makes it to UFA too. Keep the cap space and assets for grabbing young UFA's wanting the term and $ with a young team turning it around and rising up.

Maybe we should look at overage Dman Sean Allen from Oshawa with the #5 pick. He only scored 1G 6A but he he led the team with 8 fights.
