I like that he's a righty. Not having holes in his game is highly debatable. He turns the puck over more than a lot of his competition a doesn't drive possession or stats as much either. Good 5v5 scorer though, clear skills. - neem55
Absolutely. Given the chance at C I would definitely take a righty over a lefty |

Those are all good 5th picks. Given that 1st round option here's a second round group for Nucks:
Gadjovich and Ratcliffe two power forward LW that add toughness and skill with drive to the net. Decent skaters. Top 6 like Lucic but faster.
Mattheos C - dark horse here for best C past the above group. With Canada at WJ18 with 4 goals. Filling out like Glass in size and developing power game. RH shot too. Gritty goes to the net. Past offensive pedigree that now size filling out added more to his game. See his skill set adjusting to size and more potential in a couple years.
HENRI JOKIHARJU D- RH compliment to OJ. Has a great two way game. Has a balance style of physicality and offense. Just another non-flashy efficient D that would improve top 4. |

I would think that a top-5 (maybe even top-10) pick is a blue chipper until they prove otherwise. Example would be Griffen Reinhart, 4th overall pick, wouldve been a blue chip prospect until everyone realized that he wasnt improving - WhiteLie
Yup...If the Canucks picked a D at 5th overall last season and he wasn't considered a blue chipper...then Benning should be shot out of Burrows Cannon. |

What about an Tanev trade for a NYI center and draft Heiskanen ? |

they aren't both going to fall to 5 so it's whoever is left...although Benning won't select Vilardi anyways. - CanuckDon
I love these types of assumptions, they are my favorite
I think there's a decent chance both Dallas and Colorado go D. |

Exactly, if youre picking top-5 or top-10, you are taking the one of the best of an entire age group worldwide, to me that's a blue chip prospect. After a period of time, that can obviously change. I think Dahlen has possible risen to blue chip status, Goldy seems fringe as he tries to transition into NHL, Boeser (who IMO became one), Juolevi and Demko have done nothing that would hurt their development projections so I would say they are blue chips as well |

Jost and a second would be great. They get their top 4 Dman an still keep Duchene and we get our center and can get a top D prospect again |
