You don't want Crosby in the playoffs because deep down in places you wont talk about at draft parties, the Pens want Sid on the ice!They need Sid on the ice!The Pens use players such as Malkin. Kessel. Hornqvist. They use these players as the backbone of defending the Stanley Cup. The Caps use it as a punch line! The Caps have neither the time nor inclination in defending ourselves under the blanket of the very freedom of choking we provide and then question the manner in which we provide it! I'd rather Sid just say thank you and be on his way. Otherwise I suggest Sid pick up a hockey stick and skate opposed! Either way I don't give a damn what Sid or Pens fans think they're entitled to!

Don't disagree completely, but what RAGES me most is that Ovechkin doesn't at least get a slashing or slew foot penalty there. I blame Ovie way more than Niskanen.. if he would have just tried to body check Sid or steal the puck from Sid instead of resorting to UFC bully tactics, none of this happens. I understand he is frustrated because Sid OWNS him, but come on. If we get a 5 on 3 there WHICH YOU EVEN SAID EARLIER IN YOUR article, chances are it's 1-0 Pens. Also that goalie interference goal called back on Kunitz was disgusting. I knew this stuff would happen though, because the league/officials always seem to give the benefit of the doubt to the team that is losing.

Trotz... I eat breakfast 300 yards from 3000 Pens fans. They can have Sid back but they have to ask me nicely. How is Sid anyway, Jimmy?

Iggysbff, call it whining all you want, but a slash is a penalty according to the rule book whether you like it or not. Just because one player gets called for a major penalty doesn't mean that the minor penalty didn't happen. If there are no politics and the game is called objectively as stated in the RULE book, then that's a 5 on 3. Say what you want, but you can't deny that.

Note to refs - just because a player acts as if he was just shot by a high-powered rifle, doesn't mean a penalty happened. I think one of the worst things that has happened to this game is the selling of calls. If players would just focus on playing the game, more than half the "penalties" wouldn't get called, because more than half the "penalties" called are not penalties.
I still want to know, how a hook around a player's wrist can bring him to the ice.
