Thats what I would target, quality over quantity at this point. If they fail to hit expectations, then you have your depth
- WhiteLie

We have several years of high picks in front of us to acquire depth. We need potential first line talent not undersized tier 2 prospects

Nothing wrong with Granlund for Shink. Goes hard to the net every chance he gets... 20 goal scorer... a rookie. We picked Boeser basically same drafting position as Shink... very good prospect... good scouting there... so, all in all, we did fine late in the 1st rounds recnently. Like how you list your top 10(many top 5) picks as great scouting then point to 2 of 3 guys from late in the 1st round and a player who still has time to come around.

Yeah, Boyle worked out so well for you... 2 wins in the playoffs and he's a UFA. Your fake news out of Sportsnet tore us an new ahole for trading 2nd round picks for 22 year old 20 goal scorers. Sheep.

- boonerbuck

Invaluable experience for the rookies. Can't put a price tag on that. Boyle made the dream come true. No one thought the Laffs would make the show and they were faltering down the stretch. Boyle comes in and helps the team get there. High praise from the future stars of the Leafs for him. High praise from Mike and Lou. Guy's know their stuff.

Because of him Matthews, Marner and Nylander found out that the playoff matchup aren't as far from their reach as they once thought they were

Granlund a 20 goal scorer traded for a former 1st round pick. You should've picked Connor Brown in the 6th round if you wanted 20 goals and then someone better than Shink in the 1st.

Awful drafting.

yeah, because all of their picks were first overall.

Nylander was picked at 8. At this point, he's probably top 3 in terms of where they are now.

Marner is a pretty damn good pick at 4 too.

Hell, the first 4 picks of that draft are all doing pretty well. including 2 kids in their second post draft year as the top 2 dman on the AHL team among the best in the league, at the age of 20.

Instead of trying to discredit them because of the one elite kid they got at number 1, can you name any high picks they've blown in the last few years?

You guy's would die for a talent like Boyle. Unfortunately, you ain't got the peices.

That's what happens when your draft JV, McCann and Shink. You draft poop, you can only trade them for poop

They were lucky they didn't draft Laine like everyone here said they would've done.

That was a bullet the dodged

Luckily you guys picked Virtanen before Ehlers and Nylander otherwise we may have been stuck with him on the Solar Bears

I know plenty. I actually followed Tuch for a while (because I owned him in my keeper pool), and greenway I've seen a few times (including live, at the WJCs). We've got his brother. They're beasts. But not overly great at the hockey part of thing.

I get the sense you just like big players.

I never mentioned Eriksson Ek. He's solid.

Point was, you said teams that are flush with high end guys. Minnesota and Pittsburgh aren't really flush with high end guys.

I can think of 5 players from that draft on the top of my head that look FAR better than Nylander, so whatever you're smoking I'll have some.

In what world does Nylander compare to Ekblad/Draisaitl, even Larkin is a better player right now.

hell, I'd even take Demko (2nd round waddup) over Nylander

And if Matthews/Nylander/Marner and Lou and Boyle are so good, why did Washington SPANK you.

Because they've been one of the better teams in the league for 6 years now. Surely to poop, your intelligence level is adequate enough to know the reason(s) why the Leafs didn't beat the Caps. If not, I honestly cannot help you.

Not big at all. (frank) we's got a long way to go. Lots of teams better than we are. One team this is most definitely isn't though, is the sack of poop, Vancouver Canucks. Just awful. You guys have our pity and sympathy. No fan deserves a team that is set up like the Nucks.
- walshyleafsfan

Not from the way you talk. Apparently a wildcard team with a couple of good teenagers has the right to trash talk

Not all teams. You don't see Leafs fans trash talk Pens, Preds, Blues, Blackhawks fans etc.

We can absolutely trash talk the Nucks. (frank) me, fans who solely follow an AHL team can trash talk the Nucks.

Awful.
