You guys don't have the assets to acquire Tanev. I think you have it backwards. Flames and Canucks probably don't make a good trading partner anymore. We should send Tanev out east - CanuckDon
We have plenty of good defensive prospects, some of them would even be considered blue-chip prospects.
We had/have one of the deeper prospect pools in the NHL. Our team has shown that they are capable of being a legitimate playoff team and we don't think we are far off from being a contender. I think we can afford to spend a little in order to fill one of our biggest weaknesses (we need a top 6 RW and a top 4 dman).
I'm not sure what the actual cost of Tanev would be. But I'd have to think that some combination of these guys would get it done:
Fat Rass
Kylington
Hickey
Kulak
Wotherspoon
Fox
Klimchuk
Poirier
Janko (I hope not, but you know--Weisbrod).
Mangiapane
Phillips
2nd-7th round draft picks. |

I like Hanifin, but we would be giving up our most dependable D man and our leading scorer for Hanifin and a 2nd. Makes no sense. |

I think you are overrating your prospects. None of those guys are blue chip prospects which is what Tanev should demand. No thanks |

Dear Pres.Cup like a good teammate I followed through with your request to install a two way mirror. After all it would would help the half sh!ts turn into full ones and we know you need to let it out. It was the least I could do after hitting your pair so often with break out passes. Sorry, your teachings of low hanging fruit as an irresistible target bred that play into me.
Anyway, I was packing up my tools when I got the call I made it to coach Red's all star line up with you. Though, true to form had most of us out of position. We know he loves head scratching deployments. It was another challenge to overcome. So I leaned my big head on the drywall to ponder. Apologies, I didn't check for termites and the overhanging support beam crashed down.
I am now back in Europe. On the road to recover from injury. My agent Booner has informed GM Makita that I have excercised my out clause on homesickness. So you are off the hook on causation. Give the thank you Booze to Scooby as I borrowed his Fin suit. Been told by Doc Bloated that's the only way to cure my symptoms. Seek blondes to stick out their tongues. Rinse, repeat, Champoo. Will send pics.
Don't fret will rejoin the team one day. Maybe by then Coach Realitycheck will have taken over and have a spot for me. But until then scout Manvanfan has uncovered a few up and comers to send over in Whitelie, Rueben, & Kaynine. One will be ready. Been told they are aces that can feed you the biscuit.
P.S. Crazybagofham has gone to clean up the mess. So Thunda and Chompsy can complete repairs. In no time, you can use the two way mirror to your heart's delight. Bombs away bud. - Nuck4U

I'm hoping the Canes trade their 1st round pick in a package to acquire a legit top 6 forward. |

How does a top line, versatile, fast and gritty one sound to you?
Canes 1st for Megna
I think you'd have to throw in a third for untapped potential but i feel it could work. |

Kylington is a high risk-high reward type of prospect. The guy can flat out fly and he has the offensive skill to be a threat whenever he's on the ice. If he can round out the rest of his game he could very well be a top pairing dman for years to come.
Fat Rass is more defensively sound and could be one of our best defensive prospects. I'd like to see him get a shot with Brodie next year if we don't grab anyone via trade.
Adam Fox just had one of the best seasons a true freshman dman has had in the history of the NCAA. He is the definition of a blue chip prospect.
Kylington and Rass have a good chance of making our team out of camp (as of right now). I think all 3 of these dmen have a higher ceiling than Tanev so it would be tough to include any of them in a package for him.
If you don't think that some combination of the players/picks that I just listed couldn't land Tanev then it might be you who is over valuing their players.
Whether or not we like the price is another question altogether. |

Tanev would literally be the best DEFENCEman on you're team, no thanks.
I was high on Kapanen during his draft year but meh, a handful of playoff goals does not make him valuable. |
