Why go back 4 years when were in full rebuild mode? Why not just go back to like 2010 if you were going to do that

From November on we were in the top 10 in almost every important team metric. Hell, even including our terrible start we still cracked the top 10 in many categories. So yeah, I'd call us a legitimate playoff team.

I will admit that we are still a few pieces away from being a legitimate playoff threat, but isn't that the point of going on sites like this during the offseason?

Yes they played a fantastic half of the season but they have yet to prove they can do that long term. To me they have to start strong next year or it will be a pretty obvious flash in the pan. I'm not saying they won't be a good team within the next couple years, just that the way Anaheim embarrassed them didn't make them look like a legit playoff team to me.

Picks maybe, but good teams have good prospects... that's how they stay good. Minnesota for example has three of the best players not in NHL right now. These teams are deep, and so they have great young guys developing (as they should) in the AHL and Europe. Smart teams don't rush players. Leaves have started to recognize this and it is paying off big.
