Back then out in California I installed a 12 foot rotating Sat. dish in my backyard and I would cruise the skies in search of Sats that were feeding the signals form around the world .............. and try my damnest to locate the Sabres games. That game vs. Boston I found and recorded it on VHS. Still have it somewhere. Same goes for that epic OT game vs. the Devils ............... was able to watch that game on a live feed.

That was the only way to pick up Stanley Cup playoff games for East Coast teams in Calif. in those days. Nobody gave a poop about Hockey in Calif. back then.

Now i'm not saying the Caps would have tied the game....but to have a playoff game end on a penalty that was the result of a dive is (frank)ing embarrassing. Although i'm sure the league won't care cuz it benefited the Pens.

I think it was something like 10years since we had won a playoff series
To break that streak by beating the Bruins (our most hated rival at the time) was pretty epic

Too bad Murray "ignored defencemen" in the draft.....even though approximately 40% of his draft picks are defencemen.

All you'll hear is how smart it was or crafty or whatever. It's garbage, it's embarrassing, and it's standard fare for the nhl. They let interference go about 99% of the time, which is maddening in and of itself, but they'll call that garbage and won't address it even after they find out how embarrassing it is.

Might be the greatest play all-time in hockey ............top 3 for damn sure.

How many defencemen were in those rounds?
How many defencemen did we have in our system those years?
How bad did we need forwards those years?
MOST teams draft defencemen later.....especially when they trade away all their forwards for draft pics.

Watching Edmonton play, I can see why eichel 86'd suckma. These guys fly all over the place. They're not worried about "where to be" they just are. Toronto too. Young man's game. Hopefully Pegula figures that out and hires appropriately.

The year they played the Giants I was in high-tech and the line was Bills -8. I was on the Midgets but only wanted to drop a bet of a few hundred. EVERYONE was on Buffalo and by game time I had $2,500 on the Giants. Needless to say ........ I was pleased.

But I do think he's the type of player who could be a nice fit
