How the Bill snever won a SB with that squad is ridiculous ...........
The year they played the Giants I was in high-tech and the line was Bills -8. I was on the Midgets but only wanted to drop a bet of a few hundred. EVERYONE was on Buffalo and by game time I had $2,500 on the Giants. Needless to say ........ I was pleased. - fastek
From the stories u hear now-a-days....
I wonder if they would've won those first 2 if they hadn't partied so much
The Dallas teams were more talented than us though |

"Deserved"
Idk about that?
Like I said, he made many mistakes
How was it a "panic move" to let him go? - jdfitz77
I just prefer stability from the Sabres. I was a fan of Lindy and Darcy actually.
Murray in my mind had enough time to only build 1/2 of the roster he wanted when he was fired. He was prepared to address the D this off-season ........... without question. I would have liked to have seen him see this through. |

Whaley and Murray order Labatt Blue pints on draft. He hands them bottles instead and tells them: "You guys aren't allowed to draft in Buffalo anymore"
In all seriousness, it really is shame. Both guys did seem like the type you wanted to see do well. Goes to show what kind of organization PSE really is, though, that those two would still get together for a beer even after both getting canned. Maybe they'll both end up in Vegas. |

It was nothing but a panic move. I only wanted one more year from him. He deserved that much. - fastek
He was wasting draft picks like candy and completely making our organization dry |

Players have been selling calls forever. The officials have to pick that up somehow (not that I have a solution). However, the way Oshie just went right to the box made me think he thought he got him. |

That's why I'd have been ok with him coming back
But he did have plenty of mistakes
Not only was our defense brutal
So was Rochester
And with little in the prospect pool coming as well
How much would u prefer to have McNabb & Pysyk back right now?
I know I would |

I'm not questioning your character but me and you both would have done that
Even great players do that taking advantage of the system ..
I'll even say everyone in the NHL has pretended to get a High stick call |

I don't think he had played with Jack yet...
But I do think he's the type of player who could be a nice fit
Anyone else remember Baptiste playing with McDavid in Juniors?
Or am I thinking of someone else? - jdfitz77
Yes he did. For the last 30 or so games plus playoffs of their last year in junior, they played together for quite a few games, if not all the time. Baptiste got traded at the OHL deadline from Sudbury to the Erie Otters.
Watching this Oilers team, it is quite amazing to see McDavid and Draisatl play together. They are today's Gretzky and Kurri. I don't know if we have Jack's equivalent - yet. Maybe Nylander. I don't think Rhino can keep up to Jack. If I remember correctly, Rhino seemed to play really well on ROR's right side. |

He built or was in the process of building a pretty flawed roster. For that reason, his firing was not completely unjustified. I do believe that this team's flaws can be fixed without a major overhaul, however, and I do believe Murray was capable of pulling that off. That being said, I am just as confident there are multiple other people that can do it as well. |

None .......... the player we received got injured. How is that TM's fault?

Rhino was playing his best (in my opinion) when he was running his own line. It seemed to force him to take charge of the line and play to his potential. Lets hope that the next coach is capable of pulling that out of him. |

This defense was hamstrung by a lack of ability to move the puck out of the zone, and Kulikov, even when healthy, was a big reason for that. It absolutely is Murray's fault. His fault wasn't in trading Pysyk. It was trading Pysyk and not replacing what he brought, which was something that this team was already lacking in to begin with. |

I disagree. I think both were arrogant AF and both were "Cart before the horse" guys. I knew both were doing bad early on and fully expected the results we've had. I didn't expect Pegula to actually fire them both in timely fashion. Neither were mature enough handle the responsibility of being at the top of a Pegula franchise. They were both handed the keys to the Lambo and the whole experience was too tempting. I think Murray could succeed better in a lower pressure situation where he is told to work on a strict budget a-la Regeir - pre Pegula. Whaley is a pure hack. |

It's not...
but even if he was healthy, we don't know if he'd have worked out
I'd feel better about our defense right now if the 3rd pair was
McNabb-Pysyk
Instead of Gorges-Bogosian |

Murray made one trade that you can say with complete certainty that it made this team better, and that was the O'Reilly trade...unless you want to count the Mike Weber trade. |
