I think he's a nice third liner and he plays well with Larsson. Once we jettison a couple of these bloated salaries, a 3 mil 3rd liner shouldn't be a problem. As far as Carrier and Fasching translating their AHL play to the NHL, i guess we'll see. I personally haven't seen anything that gives me great expectations.

He's gonna get a raise from $2.25m. Someone will bay him 2.75-3. I'd personally like to see a Jarnkrok-type deal. 6 years, 2 mil per. I really think he'll outproduce what he did this past year, and even if he doesn't, he was night-in, night-out one of the most consistent players. Come playoff time, this guy will be a beast

McGinn's $3.3 and he scored 16 points this past year (albeit on a bad team). I think Foligno adds a toughness element that we need, and that Mcginn doesn't. The McGinn contract shows that a 3m 3rd liner isn't a bad deal, though

There isn't anyone in the organization who has proved they can score 13 goals while being a physical presence and an even +/-. I think a majority of Sabres fans under value him because he's been around for so long.

team needs to score goals, and I can't envision foligno sniffing 20 goals a year unless it's on jack's wing and pp time

Mcginn probably had his best season as a sabre , or 2/3 of one

He's effective and physical, something this team has almost none of, and he's going to command a reasonable salary. He's a complimentary piece, not a core piece.

So I'm guessing we're going to hear that he signed today maybe around 4 today

Everytime i bring up this argument in terms of Gionta on the PP (or on the team for that matter), this is the response i get: "He's fine if he's on the third or fourth line." Of course Foligno doesn't belong in the top 6. He is an effective player on third line at around 3 mil.

He's effective and physical, something this team has almost none of, and he's going to command a reasonable salary. He's a complimentary piece, not a core piece.

He's a piece that is not worth 3 mill a yr, any GM that gives him that should never have a job in the NHL again. This team has more important pieces to worry about the Foligno.Tanner Glass is " complimentary" as well and he's what 925 K if that ? Foligno with Eichel, no wonder why players and coaches around the NHL still consider us a joke.
