Yep... #2 imo
But I think most would still pick RJ over him
Van was certainly loved
RJs calls are iconic though - jdfitz77

In a weak draft? I would do that and add. He would be a nice addition to our D that we need desperately. And he's on a cap friendly contract at $4.5M for the next 3 years. - mhp
I'd like him...
but I think you're overpaying
We likely wouldn't have to give that much for him |

Given Tanev's NMC is about to kick in July 1st, and he is a dependable D-man with a super cap friendly contract, what exactly do you think BUF would give up for him. This is not a troll post at all. We are rebuilding, and you guys have good pieces to win now, but mainly need D. - Codes1087

8th overall - chilliard77
its sounds steep but really which of these d-men outside of heiskanen projects to be better than him and what are the odds they actually reach that ceiling? |

Liligren will be better. I think Foote and Hague will also be better. |

im aware you dont think all that highly of tanev, but at his best hes one of the best defensive guys in the game.
The odds Liljegren has a better impact than that are not favourable. Not saying he cant or wont |

He's alright, I guess. If I was blind and needed someone to describe the game. He just seems kind if flat to me. |

I would offer it. It's not a strong draft and if Makar,. Necas or Liljegren is available at 8, those kids would be more interesting to Van in their re-build. Benning might bite. |

"May Day" is pretty epic
I love how that's the last call in the NBCsports playoffs commercial they're running currently
I was actually at that game as a young teenager
Standing room only seats
Crowd was so loud I remember seeing ppl cover their ears
Epic
Ppl forget about the awesome pass LaFontaine made to get May the puck

I think Vancouver would make that trade in a heartbeat
I'm just saying I don't think we'd have to give up that much
Could probably get him cheaper |

I agree. I think they would accept a 2nd and a prospect. |

The image that I remember most is May going around Bourque like he was a pylon. I enjoyed that series a lot. Was hoping you guys beat Montreal that year. |

We have 2 2nd ricks (37, 53) so we could offer one of those but I doubt Benning goes for it. |

That's certainly true, better than 8. I'm just not sold Benning would want that but ya never know I guess. I believe the 8th pick will be in play for a trade. |

I've heard that too from a friend who works at Harbor Center.
Kane lives (or lived) at the Marriott down there and rubbed a lot of people the wrong way when he first got here. The Pegula's aren't fans.
Especially with the way they've taken to Sean McDermott and his style, I'd put Kane resigning here at a very slim chance - sbroads24
