He was 28th in the consolidated March 31st rankings....and falling since then as far as I can tell. what ranking are you using? Either way, I am all for adding some size up front. BPA in round 1 and address some needs later on. - CanuckDon
Still ranked in the first round...

He hasn't really fallen at all and moved up after the prospects game where he was one of the better players. Comtois who seems similar did though... he would probably be available at 33. - boonerbuck
I would be pretty happy if we got Comtois in the 2nd round, though I expect he'll be gone, most rankings have him going in the 1st round |

I'm all for Gadjovich or Ratcliffe in the 2nd round. |

When I look at the forward lineup for next year I can't help but think Boeser and JV will likely be competing for the same spot. As much as I like Boeser I kind of hope JV has it in him to take that spot - NorthNuck
If it came down to a street fight Virtanen likely could. Otherwise, probably not. |

Seems Ratcliffe has a slight edge on Comtois in the rankings.

I guess what I mean is I hope he has developed enough to stick in the NHL this year. If he's able to do that, and there are no other roster spots, some time in Utica could certainly help Boeser. |

borderline...would you trade 33 + ? to obtain the 25th pick? I'd take my chances he falls into our lap |

Seems to be a bigger log jam on the left.
Boeser on the Sedin line, Jake on the 3rd.... Dorsett on the 4rth,,, room for another winger to choose from who's left.
Otherwise, Boeser gets called up after Jake's first cheese burger relapse.

JV on fourth line? - NorthNuck
Possible. I just think that with Green here JV is going to get his shot.

One of the many LWs will be available at 33, just take the best one there.
Taking a center at 5 and LW a 33 is a bad idea IMO. It does nothing to address the defense which is an absolute disaster with Tryamkin leaving.
Im hoping we can acquire a couple 2nds from teams looking to rid themselves of terrble contracts and really load up at various positions. |

Mismash, robertson and strome in and around there too. I think one will be around at 52 or whatever from CBJ |

He's ranked mostly in the 1st round between 20th and 30th... it's not borderline because you can cherry pick at 30th. That's like someone saying he's borderline top 10 because someone has him ranked 13th...

well....if we have Columbus 2nd ( I don't think we will) we can go C-LW-D.
That would be sweet. |

No need to trade anything, there are 3 guys mentioned, Ratcliffe, Comtois and Gadjovich, plus 3 guys in Europe that are of similar skill/styles. Take the one that you have rated highest and available. |

If Green is playing Dorsett above Jake,,,, well... I'm keeping a life jacket on because the dam will break and I don't want to drown in the river of tears.

Well you have Bae, Daniel, Eriksson guaranteed on the left, and Horvat, Hank, and Sutter down the middle in the top 9. That leaves Granlund, Goldobin, Boeser, Virtanen, you could even throw in Dahlen all competing for 3 spots unless you're willing to play one or two of them on the 4th line |

The most reputable consensus rankings have him at 28th. There is pretty good chance that he is available at 33rd. that's all I am saying. |

That josh brooks is a Dman I would like with that CBJ pick.
If we go Dman at 33, I like Vaakinen, jokiharju, timmins and joseph.
Lots of good centers there too thomas, dolan, ruzicka plus lots of really small types.
You dont think we'll get the columbus pick? Id say its pretty much a lock. Weak draft and they had a good season.
For me picks 25-55 are all decent. |

They also went out in the first round and probably expect to go further next year?
I tend to agree with you though, I think we'll probably get it this year. |
