I just think the lottery is bullocks and so are the excuses in favor of it. All the talk about not rewarding losing and then a team that just misses the playoffs gets rewarded for mediocrity or under-performing. It's a double-standard. - BeadyEyedDouche
Oh, I'm not defending or criticizing the lottery. It simply just doesn't bother me one way or the other, at least not with the state the team is in now. The Sabres probably did get a raw deal, but the fact is, they still should have been a much better team than they were this season. The lottery would not have fixed this defense, unless you buy into the notion that Murray would have picked Ekblad with #1 overall in 2014 (all indications appeared to be that Reinhart was their guy regardless). |

Man, Draisaitl is a superstar - sbroads24
Have you ever considered that if Draisaitl was drafted by Buffalo ............ he'd suck with the rest of them ? |

First off you dont know me so im not a reinhart apologist
second that whole year we're we not arguing on which Sam would be better for us.
I dont remember anyone hyping Leon as hard as the other two. If im wrong my mad.
just for my personal information, what do you want from reinhart for you not to be unhappy with him? honestly wondering. - zombres
Leon was never considered as a top 3 pick ....... don't listen to all of the BS arm-chair revisionists. |

You're reaching, but I get what u mean
I think Sam will look a lot better if he's moved back to Center
It'll allow him more opportunities to be the "playmaker" that we drafted |

The Oil are going to dominate for years, we really needed to win that lottery for once. - sskkoo1
Agree ..............but it needs to be the right year we win it. |

I love Sam ... but he's not going to peak until the roster is complete..... then he's going to be an assist machine.
We have at most two solid scoring lines and it's pretty simple for good teams to negate them. And people wonder why we suck 5 x 5. lol.
We need more offense. |

I think we kinda used the O'Reilly line as a "checking" line,
But then did the same with the 3rd line
Imo, that's why we didn't score a lot 5v5
A 3rd line that looks something like Kane-Reinhart-Bailey could be good
I like the idea of Sam setting those wingers up |

I do too .........if Kane and Sam are on the 3rd line ........... we vastly improved offensively somehow. |

It wouldn't mean we have 6 better guys ahead of them
I'm a proponent of spreading talent out onto 3 lines instead of putting the 6 best guys on the top2 lines
If we can swing a trade for Nash (or someone like him)...
Nash-Eichel-Ennis
Girgs-O'Reilly-Okposo
Kane-Reinhart-Bailey
Foligno-Larsson-Baptiste
That's probably my ideal lineup to start the year
If Ennis can't hack it with Jack, give Baptiste a shot or maybe Nylander is ready to move up at some point |

The discussions of a new head coach and Tocchet as being a prime candidate puzzle me. If Pegula truly feel that character is an important attribute I cannot see him allowing Tocchet being considered, much less being hired. If any assistants on the Pens is hired IMO it would be Jacques Martain. I would be adverse to this, but he has experience and has been around younger players in his earlier career. My choice would fall between three candidates. Kevin Dineen deserves another shot and IMO would be the best choice. With his experience and work in Rochester he is by far someone I consider the best candidate. Tony Granato has been a long time assistants and worked for a considerable time in the Pens organization. Phil Housley has been successful in all levels of coaching and as a Predators assistant has been around the young talent. He has the credibility with his long career and is again familiar with the environment here. I cannot see Pegula waivering when it comes to his mandate of character. |

Ugh!!! Girgensons was player of the game for Latvia scoring a goal and assist. What happened to him just had to be all of Disco Dan's doing, how else can it be explained how Girgensons plays so well for every jersey he puts on except a Sabres? Man, I hope it's not too late to get this guy back on track. We need some good luck coming our way for once. |
