Von Dudensteins, no discussion on who you want the coach to be? 89 said Clark Donatelli is a possibility. I had no idea who he was, watched a video of him wired up in practice, found out he won the AHL equivalent to the President's for Wilkes Barre, now he is who I'm rooting for. Gidder dun JB. |

This would be a killer Top 3 centres IMO - SabreWest
It just makes sense to me
Gets Sam back to center where he can be a playmaker
And turns the 3rd line into a scoring line instead of a checking unit
The young wingers we have coming are ready, or almost ready
Bailey, Baptiste, Fasching, Nylander, maybe Carrier
Even Pu in a few (that's some Al Sharpston rhyming there! Haha) |

Maybe I read it wrong, I thought I saw that he "sees" him as a winger instead of has "seen" him. Trying to find the quote. Only found a tweet:
SabresBuzz @SabresBuzz
Botterill sees Samson more as a winger than center
5:17 PM - 11 May 2017 - RhinoFan
SabresBuzz is Garth though
I wouldn't take that too seriously
Botterill also just started really evaluating our players
I heard him say that it won't be until this time NEXT season that he'll really be able to form his opinions on them |

I never said I wanted him to play the wing. I was merely stating that he had his most productive season on the wing.
Ennis sucks Enzo sauce.... - 22sabresQ
Fair enough
We had a few guys who looked a lot worse under Bylsma's complicated schemes & system though
I think Ennis & Girgensons could be productive again under the new coach
Moulson has gotta go to Vegas imo
Other than a netfront PP specialist, he seems to be done |

Quite frankly, who cares how Gorges reacts.
If he throws a fit, pouts, moans, and groans, his butt can be sent down to Rochester.
I am not paying him for two years when there is absolutely no reason just to get him off the team.
His play the past year + has shown he is a replacement level player on defense at best.
You do not make plans around a player like that, and this new GM is supposedly very bright, meaning he should know that. - kingcong39
Well the locker room matters to me
Even if it's the locker room in Rochester
And it looks bad to just bury a Vet |

Housley was on his list of coaches too, along with the Bougy Man and a few others I can't remember.

Loved Boughner as a player, all guts , terrible fighter but that never stopped him....I know he has been successful as coach as well. |

I like the Housley idea
He has the Buffalo connection, which appeals to Pegula
He's also younger & presumably more entuned to our youngsters
And what's not to like about Nashville's defense?
Their style of play is nice & uptempo as well,
which seems to fit what Botterill was saying he'd like to see
At first glance,
I'd say he's one of the favorites
Makes a lot of sense |

I was really surprised when he got the job, I mean he wasn't exactly Reinhart out there as a player, but then he went and surpassed all expectations. I'm not sure he's ready to be an NHL head coach yet, but who knows? |

He's not that young, he's 53.
Bylsma is 46.
Lindy is only 57. |

Crosby is such a dirty player, I don't feel bad about that concussion one bit, he STILL feels the need to slash for no reason after the whistle. Someone needs to just telegraph a hit on him and end it. |

Boughner & Lane Lambert are 2 guys who are very worthy of getting an HC shot. Both were rumoured to be in the running with the Avs position at the time, so I looked into them a lot
Boughner is a 2 time Mem Cup wining coach, CHL and OHL coach of the Year. Ivan Hlinka Tournament winning coach. Highly regarded with his work with the Sharks the past few seasons. Still holds ownership of the Spitfire in the OHL, but when he was running it full time while as a coach, credited for developing guys like Hall, Ryan ellis, Henrique, Cam Fowler.
He would be a solid add, Panthers are looking into him. I was very interested in Lane Lambert when the Avs HC was open. He has been Trotz right hand man for the past 7 years or so. He has had responsibilities with Trotz from Fwds, to D, to special teams. I think that guy is due for a look |

I think skill wise Malkin is the better dynamic talent than Crosby. But he just doesnt turn it on consistently enough. There is a legit argument to be made that Malkin doesnt flash his talent unless crosby is hurt or is struggling. He is this generations kovalev. Just a talented but enigmatic player |

Yeah, better player than Kovalev though by a margin.
Kovalev turned it on like 25% of the time |
