Was listening to WGR the other day, and they were talking about the Mcdavid and Eichel extension most likely to take place this summer. They then went on to say the Drasiatl (sp) would be getting around 8-9 million on an extension this summer. That seems absolutely insane number for him. Yes he was awesome this year but 8-9 mill, that's Malkin and Crosby type money, not sure hes there yet (not to say he wont be soon).
Thoughts? - Sabres1523
He will not be getting those kinds of dollars
Where do they get their sources ?
6.5-7.5 long term
If his agent plays super hardball, it'd be a bridge deal much lower for a couple years to prove he can do it long term before he gets that kind of money |

He's already proved he's more than capable of being a playoff teams second best player.
Eventually he's going to make 8 or 9 anyways |

Thats a hard no - Sabresfan-365
Not sure how that is a hard pass.
Unless you think your getting a 50 point True #1 d-man for pick 8, which i doubt happens. |

Oh I don't doubt he'd prove it.
He's an absolute beast. In many games during the run he was our best player. Just sayin
That said, he ain't getting upwards of 8+ this quickly.
My guess is if he gets $7-7.5, it'll be for max term.
If we can squeeze him down to $6.5, five or six year term.
If he's adamant on those huge dollars, $5-6 for a couple years and then as you said, he'll get his jackpot |

it doesnt have to be either or. Fowler is a pending ufa who's going to get overpaid. You dont give up top 10 picks for those type of players. Id rather take a guy who you hope can turn into something special than pay up for someone who clearly isn't.

Starting to wonder if Eichel is a choke artist. Remember talking on the phone with a friend from back home while watching the Frozen 4 Championship and we both noticed Eichel's disappearing act. It was magical. I'm sure i'll get laughed at, just like broads and 365 called it "laughable" when I questioned whether or not Risto was a #1 at the beginning of last year. Now they're claiming that take as their own. Effin plagiarizers. I'm not always right, but I aint ever been wrong. |

It's too early to label him as a choke artist. However, on the biggest (Frozen Four, World Juniors, etc.), he still has yet to show he can win. Some simply have it. Others can learn it. It's pretty clear that Eichel falls in the latter category. |

??? The only reason why they didn't win the Frozen Four was because of their goaltender they had that game all won |

thx...
antipin is on the smallish side but handles himself very well...he can turn and make up ground pretty fast on defense, is a very good skater/puck-mover who loves jumping into the play and often times finds himself in the slot on offense |
