While I like and generally agree with the article's point regarding defensemen, does this writer really think that clutching and grabbing is gone and that we are transitioning to a "high scoring game"??

I wish he was right on those points. One 100 pt player in the entire league says otherwise.

It still is higher scoring than the pre-2005 lockout. We were spoiled by the "Leave Room for the Holy Spirit" standard in 2005-2006 which was always unsustainable.

He's going to need to beef up a bit, but he's got excellent compete, he can definitely skate and he's more than capable in all situations. He will be a welcomed addition to this team and is probably the 3rd best Dman.

It may still be higher, but the fact that there were 15 players that had at least 82 points (1 ppg average) in 2009/2010, whereas this year there were 7 tells you a lot. You figured that by 09/10 they had come back down to earth a lot in terms of not calling as many penalties as the 05/06 season.

I really hope Terry and Jason were watching that game. Phil Housley needs to be front runner for the Sabres head coaching job. Trade Weber, aquire PK, western conference champions and possible cup. Really enjored the veterans and young core playing high octane hockey

Met Peter Laviolette last summer. Loved how he said he just needed more speed for his team and then made the Subban trade. Also said Ruff helped him with developing a strategy for OT. Glad they made it all the way and hope they win it for that city and that entire team. WGR mentioned yesterday how everyone loves this team which might be accurate. I dont think even Chicago fans hate them
