Nothing to say about this game. We played to our ceiling and everyone played great. This needs to continue if we want a shot at being the first cap era team to repeat. |

I thought this team was out of gas earlier in the playoffs. Beating the other team to the puck and winning board battles is how they won last year. It's nice to see that back in their game.
I don't know if Sullivan can walk on water. I probably wouldn't bet against him at this point. |

This series ending up how I expected us to be. A significantly weaker team that wouldn't hold up fro an entire series.
Next round I'm fairly afraid of our western conference opponent. It seems to me like we are limping to the finish line this year. Injuries and fatigue have really caught up with us. I have my concerns that we can't beat a well balanced team like we will meet in the next round.
Nashville losing Johansen will give us an edge.
Really is amazing how well our staff in WBS is at having guys ready to compete in the NHL. We use our AHL guys in the playoffs when the NHL team is decimated; not just meaningless midseason games. |

Time to go for a touchdown and the 2 pt play. Mop the floor with the Sens and stop Boucher from asking questions in response to questions in his press conference. |

He was a bit late making adjustments in the WAS series, but he's made them all the same.

Great dominating game. More Streit and less Hainsey I agree.
Lets finish it off tomorrow night. |

Sure glad we (these boards) aren't GM's. Maatta would be playing for another team long ago. hah! Also, Sheary would have been in last night instead of Rowney because of upside potential not current playing level.
Huge win! 5 more needed! |

A very enjoyable watch. Keep it going Pens
(Screw Trudeau, as a Leafs fan I could never cheer for the Sens) |

Quotes aren't working but I drank a bit yesterday as well to celebrate when we went out for dinner. Sully makes great adjustments and this young legs thing seems to be working again this year. Hope we win the next one. Let's Go Pens!
Hope Wilson is OK. |

Who was the jackaninny on here who advocated that the Penguins should just lose after the Game 3 debacle because they were obviously not going to win the series? |

Yes, but we would have kept Rob Scuderi off of the active roster. |

Lot's of limping going on yesterday. Oh, and the fatigue really played a factor as well.
Seriously though; I, like a lot of people thought the same thing at various points in these playoffs and then all that gets thrown out the window with a performance like this last one, that was probably their best game in this post season.
If they can get through to the Finals, I'm not counting this team out due to any excuse, because every time it looks like they've hit the wall and have nothing left, they not only prove everyone wrong, but they do it in "Holy Crap!" fashion.

For this league, totally believable.
Honestly thought the Ryan hit on Ruhwedel was worse. |

Looking great in his role. Think all the time off helped. If Schultz is healthy hope he does play over Hainsey and I'm one of the few who hasn't buried Hainsey. But with Daley looking like he's ready for top 4 time they can finally get 3 balanced pairs out there. 5 wins to go so no grind to save these guys from. |

Yeah, the past couple of games Daley looks like the guy we saw last year. That's really encouraging. |

Something that gets overlooked with a team like Ottawa, who will never be confused for an offensive powerhouse of a team, is that coming into this series they were averaging 2.83 GFPG. Including their big 5-2 win, they're only averaging 1.8 GFPG this series.
The improved play of Maatta/Daley combined with MS's defensive adjustments have really have reaped benefits for the pens inspite of the rag tag defensive group the Pens currently ice. |
