It would have been nice if the Oilers and their 5wins vs Anaheim got to play the Preds. At least it could have been a competitive series. The Ducks were gifted the third round and then they go and play like chumps again and lay an egg. Terrible team. At least their window is closed now.

Kessler was horrible this series. Johansen was in Kessler's head even after RJ was out of the series. RJ had more points in 4 games than D-Bag Kessler had in 6.

Kings weren't a good team this year. Who the hell would have even wanted to watch this years King's team in the playoffs? Definitely not me. They would have been swept. Instead we get a relatively high draft pick that we'll either use to pick a future impact player or we'll package it for high end talent via trade. The Ducks have now burned half a decade (literally) when they've had a team that should compete for a Stanley Cup. How many division banners are we at now? Seriously? I don't even know. It's literally all for nothing when you don't win the games that actually count the most at the end of the year. The Kings made the most of the great teams they had. That's what champions do. The ducks don't.

They have become the WSH of the west... if only the banner was the cup.

Sour grapes. We were favored to make the conference finals, which we did. And now you want to make it a bad thing that we made the playoffs? You got a top-14 pick. You'll need it. Our scrubs beat Ontario while our best two defensemen were up playing with the Ducks. And you sent what talent there was down to play in the AHL playoffs. Your cupboard is bare. Your cap is maxed. You know you're in trouble for a long time. And you want to make the argument that a double-digit playoff win season was a failure for the Ducks. You've failed.

There's no doubt. Although you've gotta give them much more legitimate credit than the Caps as they've made the conference finals 2 out of the last 3 years. That 3-2 series lead (sound familiar) against Chicago, when they were only a single win away from the Finals might end up representing the closest these ducks ever come to the Finals. And this year, despite having serious injury concerns of their own with a couple high end players out, they'll never escape the fact they played a team minus their top 2 centers. Can somebody tell me the last time a team in the playoffs has ever had that happen? It's gotta be historical. Unbelievable.

'Your scrubs' beat a third string AHL goaltender in a winner take all game. Lmfao. Congrats bro. I don't think the Ducks making the western finals is at all a failure, I'm simply stating the obvious that it's yet another massive and potentially final missed opportunity. You have to turn the years you're good into championships. The other thing is how much wear and tear is being put on the Ducks core older players with these playoff runs. Take it from a Kings fan, they add up quick. It's part of the reason why the Kings eventually fell off so far. That's why you've gotta make it count, because there's a poopload of mileage being put those bodies that eventually takes its toll. You think Ducks management is patting themselves on the back right now after another promising year and division win resulted in yet another non-finals appearance? Hell, at least the Sharks have made it to the finals now with their current group.

It is so funny how everyone says how dirty the Ducks are because they play big and heavy. EVERY single team in the league has guys that play that do dirty things! Nashville had guys this series do things that were dirty. You don't win Cups without doing some of those things. You see it every year. The Ducks are just a bigger team and can handle most of that punishment. Oiler fans, you think Kassian is a guy that docent do dirty things? HA! Kings fans, Brown didn't play chippy in their cup runs? Ask Arizona how they feel about that. Nashville, Forsberg/Johansen/Neil didn't spear/slash/hit from behind anyone? Really? Chicago, Shaw is a D'Bag when he was on that team for the Cups runs. Every year in the Stanley Cup finals, that is what is needed to get to the next round and then the next and then the next and then the final. You want to say the Ducks are dirty but they play big boy hockey and they came up short. Nashville had a WAY better goalie last night and that was the difference. We had a guy that hadn't played in a month. If it wasn't for Rinne last night, these two teams are headed back to Anaheim and Nashville is crapping their pants. That is not the way it played out and congrats to Nashville.

And to the Kings fans that hate the Ducks so much, I believe you were crapping your pants because the only thing you really have to hold over the Ducks head over the last decade is that you won two cups. I just do not understand this. You know, just be bigger than that. I will route for the Kings if the Ducks are out of it. We all live in the same area for the most part. I grew up watching and routing for the Kings because that is all we had. As soon as the Ducks came in the league I switched teams. Successful hockey no matter where it comes form SOCAL is good for us and the sport.

Ducks aren't a dirty team they are just playing the game the way that team is built. And if Kessler was so bad at what he does and it was "dirty" then why are they talking about how good he is at what he does? Why not suspend him for that "dirty" play. Oh wait..... He is probably going to win an award this year for being the best defensive forward in the game and anyone of you out there that says you wouldn't want him on your team is a lying to themselves and everyone else!

Looks like more teams fans are worrying about the Ducks to lose then there own teams. I love being a fan of the most hated team. Everyone rips Kesler yet everyone in this blog would love to have him on the team they root for. Chicago fans weren't female doging about him coming to them when it was the Ducks or Chicago. Losing your 2 top scorers and your starting goalie did us in. Period. Gibson wins that game pretty easily.

Lotsa whining from the Oilers fanbase in here, and the Kings for some reason.

I remember all the same whining about how Kassian was the dirtiest worst player in the league and how they could never cheers for such a player.

Now look at your team and that second line, Nuge and Eberle, didn't produce and definitely didn't play a shut down role. I am sure Oilers Mgmt at the moment are talking about how they need to ditch one of those guys and need a 2 way shut down guy like Kesler. Maybe it will happen and he can be the next bad guy that was turned around in Edm.

You're better than that.

Ducks played without their top two F scorers AND their starting goalie. Then another top F gets kicked out of the game for a stupid penalty. Yes, it was Ritchies fault, but bottom line we had 3 F gone and our G. All we've heard is how the Kings would have made the playoffs if they had Quick, yet you easily dismiss the effect of losing a goalie that had a better save % than the opposition.

That's called logic. It's tough to understand. Very few Kings fans have that.

If there was no cap, you're probably right. With a cap though, there are a few teams he'd be a 3rd line center and at almost 7mil/per he'd be way too pricey.

That comment is just plain stupid.

This "pricey 3rd line C" is the front runner for the Selke Award.

Yet it brings me back to the Bergeron argument I had prior to the season starting on here. Everyone thinks he is so great. Mr. 2 way forward. Kesler is 1 year older. Same money. Same UFA year. Kesler had nearly identical numbers. Actually a little better. Nobody gives the guy credit. Bergeron is a 1st/2nd line center to everyone yet Kesler is a 3rd in most peoples eyes making to much money. Kesler is nominated for same award and Kesler has better numbers.

I said on a few teams he'd be a 3rd line, not all.

You think the Penguins would want to pay their 3rd line center a shade under 7mil? That's where he would slot in. Same with LA, he's not slotting ahead of Kopitar and Carter, or I doubt Washington would put him above Backstrom and Kuz.

Maybe Gibson does win those games but to me Anaheim lost when they traded Anderson. I know people like Gibson but the guy is always hurt, he looks lost at times. I just do not see it. Someone in that organization liked him and decided he was the guy but I am not buying it and I am going to be really bummed when Anderson is raising the Cup with Toronto. I will be happy for him but bummed as a Ducks fan. Gibson better come out and play like the super star he supposed to be next season because if he ends up hurt or sucking there will be A LOT of pissed off Duck fans.
