You're welcome to play Xbox with Mordecai or me. Or you could figure out what outfit you'll be wearing at the Pirates of the Caribbean premiere with Boyd Gordon. - Mononoke
I've previously made a promise to someone to buy a ps4, so I'll be doing that in a few months
I've had the outfit picked out since March |

He was saying we could have traded for another goalie to expose without giving Neuvirth that contract. That goalie would have filled the Neuvirth expansion role. But it's too late for that, and that's what they chose to do. So yes they won't add another goalie, but they could have months ago. - Mononoke
Who knows what was available and what they tried to do? Could be they didn't want to get stuck with one of those other goalies when Vegas didn't pick them in the expansion draft.
I don't like the two years and would prefer they parted ways with Neuvirth. It seems to me they were trying to do something with Neuvrith before the trade deadline. They started him almost every game in in February, signed him to an extension on the trade deadline day only to plant his ass on the bench for most of the rest of the regular season, even while they thought they were still in the playoff picture. If I remember right, he got two starts after the trade deadline, the Toronto game and the game he passed out.
I would like to see Mason back until at least one of the kids are ready.

They're gonna sign one of those goalies anyway. So I don't think that's true. Either way. There were other options available to them besides saying, "Michal we need to sign someone for the expansion draft, what would you like?"

You just have to be on your guard with StepfordSam's opinion. He's a known master of sarcasm.
But Destiny is indeed poop. |

The gunplay is actually pretty solid for a console shooter. Too bad it is in the service of a boooooring game.
Can't recommend Nier Automata enough since my opinion seems to be highly thought of these days. |

They flat out said they did not talk to Mason about an extension before signing Neuvirth - YuenglingJagr
This is what i call a good leveraging of your assets. Dont talk to them and feel them out, just sign a lesser player to a higher dollar contract then they previously had.

Just not sure I buy into that. I thought Hextall had moves available before he got painted into a small corner. I don't doubt that he wanted something figured out before the offseason though.
I don't think Nick Schultz or PEB had Hextall cornered either and they got sizable contracts similar to Neuvirth - YuenglingJagr
What moves were they? Completely different situations with Schultz and Bellemare. If the Flyers had an established starter under contract, there is no way Neuvirth would've gotten that much money from the Flyers.

That would've had to have been for a player they felt comfortable being a starter for next season.

Why talk to a player you're not interested in bringing back based on the circumstances at hand? Do you think they could've signed Mason to the same deal they did Neuvirth? They're comfortable with that deal for the next two seasons versus what Mason would've cost in term and money. That's what it comes down to when choosing between the two which to re-sign.

Good thing they feel that way about Neuvirth - Mononoke
False narrative on your part here. It's widely known that the Flyers want to sign another goaltender to share the net with Neuvirth. They are however okay if they're not able to do that in having Neuvirth as the starter with perhaps Stolarz as the backup. There is no guarantee that they will get the player they want. Nwuvirth is an insurance policy for them without having to get into a bigger deal with a player they really don't want.

I wouldn't be comfortable with Neurvirth as the only starter if they can't find a veteran to complement him. Maybe I'm misreading your sentence but I doubt the Flyers would feel comfortable with that as well. Personally I think that would be a mistake. |

Just my fart-flavored opinion here... but I don't think there's any chance that Vegas would take either Neuvirth or Stolarz in expansion over somebody like Raffl or Laughton or Cousins. If Hextall acquires another goalie before the draft he just has to protect that goalie.
Sometimes I fantasize about the idea of Vegas taking A-Mac in expansion, the same way I fantasize about winning the lottery. I know it won't happen but it's not impossible so I allow myself to dream |

I believe Stolarz has one thing that may make him more interesting to Vegas than the others. I believe he is still waiver exempt for another year. I'm not saying I expect Vegas to take him but it could help Vegas stock their system. |
