I saw a youtube video about these knockoffs

Some of them looked pretty cool but then the guy mentioned that they had like 100-150 BHP

no wonder they all almost went under. it has it all. piss poor designs. terrible quality of materials. crackhead assembly and interchangeable parts.

oh, i meant to mention that when i took my second ever brisk walk™ outdoors in the nature, i walked through a neighborhood where i saw a dodge dart swinger parked on the curb and it looked like somebody was driving it at least semi-regularly. it was pretty much falling apart but it looked like it's been starting when these people turned the key.

by my calculations it has to be at least 43 years old and may be as old as 50.

my cousin Dom's first car. i can't even describe the color. (frank)er ran like a champ tho. even had an FM radio in the glove box. remember when that was a thing?

Edit. he bought it used. it literally was only driven to church. car had maybe 20K on it and it had to be ten years old.

holy poop. i forgot about radios in the glove box.

this swinger definitely was green at one time. using the term "patina" would really be stretching to try to be gentle here. this thing was rusted the (frank) out (RTFO).

i feel like they were all green or brown but the internet says otherwise.

ok. i will give you a grampy story from my yute. in 79 we had a huge snowstorm and it started huge 4 wheel drive craze around here. a friend of a friend wanted to get rid of his lincoln mark1V but was getting lowballed on trade in value. so we offered a different solution. we offered to "steal" his car and torch it for insurance money.
the car was mint. black on black. leather everywhere.

so we took the car for a night and had some fun with it. at the end of the night we had to make it look like it was stolen for a joyride. we ripped out the radio. popped the ignition. crashed it into a few things. and then took it to the spot to set it ablaze.

dude got his money fast cause it was found. bought himself a chevy blazer and 3 days after he picked it up, it was stolen for real.
