Never met any of these guys.
But then again I've only driven unleaded vehicles. - Just5
Bernie Parent is my all time favorite Flyer. I've met him 3 times and each time I stammer and barely know what to say, its like I'm a kid all over again. And it's not like I'm bashful, I play in a band and perform all the time.
I just love those guys. They were so down to earth and approachable. You rarely find that with pro athletes today. |

Danny is everything you hear about him and more. One of the nicest human beings -- not just limited to the sports realm, either -- you will ever meet. - bmeltzer
Very true, he sat at our table at an event in Margate a few years back and he was joy to talk to. He had a smile on his face the whole night and happily posed for photos and signed autographs for anyone who wanted one. Class act all the way! |

I've met Don Seleski, nice guy.
Got an autograph from Hextall and Derick Smith not long after the game 7 loss to the Caps in 88. Hextall did not seem like he was in the best of moods. I was scared to approach him. But he was nice once you got up to him.
My sisters met Keith Jones down at the Borgata. They said he was nice.

Jones came into a diner by Voorhees (the one now closed) and saw my friend and i there with flyers stuff on and he came over and said hi girls. I mean, came out of his way to approach us. very pleasant |

Outside of when I was a kid I met Bernie twice outside of a Flyers setting.....both times at Whole Foods in town of all places. Both times he was there with his son. the first time I saw him coming towards me and I realized who it was right away and smiled and said hello. he said hello back and said do i know you? Maybe he was surprised someone recognized him in a non hockey setting. I laughed and said no but I know you you are. he was sooooo nice. I introduced me to his son
I met a lot of the 80's players back in, well, the 80's they were all very cool guys. Pelle was so sweet. Even after the 86 elimination most of the guys were cool about stopping. The only guy I found to be a jackass was Joe patterson....out of all people. Brad McCrimmon was so nice. He talked to my friend and I about Alzheimer's. his grandmom suffered from it. |

I almost met Andrew MacDonald when he was here in Allentown. Saw him from across the street and started coming at him to greet him. He just kept backing up for whatever reason and I lost him after having to wait at a crosswalk. So yeah, I really can't tell you how cool he is. - YuenglingJagr

My band got to open the 2013 MMRBQ and in the backstage catering area when I was getting dinner Max Talbot got in line behind us with his girlfriend. One of my bandmates and I just introduced ourselves and said Hi and good luck next season and whatnot. Neither of us are the kind of guys that try to bother people or ask them for pictures or anything. After the 4 of us had sat down at a table to eat and Max and his GF finished getting their food he came over to our table and asked if he could sit with us. We ended up talking with him and his girlfriend for a good 30 minutes. They were both really nice, funny, down to earth people.
Ended up seeing a few other Flyers around the VIP area, and the equipment guy Derek Settlemeyer or however you spell it. Lol Settlemeyer seemed nuts, he was either f*cking with us or on some kind of uppers or just a weird dude. He exchanged phone numbers with a guy in my band and told us to text him next time we were playing locally. Apparently he ended up texting our guy "what up big cat?" or something weird and random like that out of nowhere weeks later. |

Dude, this is stupid, but I kinda knew the guy who used to take the players to signings and appearances and stuff so he'd let me know whenever he'd be in the area. I was at so many appearances that Parent was at that I was walking into a regular season game and as my wife and I were heading to the escalator the usual group of ambassadors were signing in the atrium Parent called out to me by my first name and waved us over.
Completely, the most ridiculously cool thing that ever happened to me in my life. |

No man. I yelled at all those idiots who bang on the glass from the front row. Usually I'm too high up for them to hear me insulting them. It was good to get down close to those animals. |

Met Jeff Carter and Danny Briere at Plough & the Stars in Old City. Carter just scooted right by without engaging but Briere was super nice. Gave a friendly greeting and you could just tell he has a warm and inviting personality. - StepfordSam
