Chances they traded Theodore was slime before (bc he was one of the defensemen they didn't have to protect)...
but now that Vatenan will miss the beginning of the season & Lindholm might as well, there is ZERO chance that either Theodore or Montour will be moved
Ducks defense to start next year currently looks like this:
Fowler-Montour
Theodore-Manson (if they don't trade him, to us! )
Stoner-Bieksa (if they don't buy him out)
Next up- Larson
Injured- Lindholm, Vatanen, Despres (can he come back from missing this whole season bc of a concussion?)

It's amazing that they could trade Manson, trade Bieksa, and still have a top 3 blue line. - sbroads24
That's what happens when u keep drafting defensemen high |

You know who would probably fetch us a young potential top 4 D like Manson, Brodin, etc, - Colin White, Travis Konecny or Jack Roslovic.
They wouldn't have to be protected, and they wouldn't be a year away from UFA.
They also aren't goalies
Thanks again Tim |

Stop chewing on this bone.
None of those three has shown anywhere near the value that Manson or Brodin has, so to suggest that a straight up hockey trade would get done on that basis is rather silly.
Also, "they aren't goalies" would mean the Sabres would still need one. And while they are easier to acquire than the stud D are, maybe we should cut Murray a little slack on the failure to acquire a stud D given how hard we all agree it is to get one.
He's gone, stop obsessing over him. |

they all had decent years, most of their value would be potential and that fact that they dont need to be paid big money yet. |

Never said straight up. But they absolutely would be more enticing to teams like ANA or Minny than someone like Kane, who would have to be protected and re-signed.
I'm also not obsessed with Murray, I'm obsessed with the fact that he was so bad at his job.
Also, Eff Lehner, and the Sens organization he and Murray came from |

Maybe I was dreaming, but wasn't Konecny on the same team Canada that ROR was? |

Maybe, but I wasn't thinking of one.
I'm honestly baffled that more people can't see how badly this got messed up.
We have an expansion draft, where a few teams HAVE to trade competent D men, and we don't have the ammo to get a deal done without creating holes somewhere else. |

power forwards who score 40 points are rare in a league where you dont really need power forwards.

I was ok with trading for Lehner,
but hated that we gave up the 1st to do it
I think Konecny would've been the obvious pick there
Still don't know why he fell so far? He should've gone top12ish |
