Whoa the new Golden Knight referee dropping the golden hammer - I like it!

Ha, I forgot I have that as my team, there was so much drama in Carols blog I changed my team a couple weeks back.

Wow. Read the Ducks blog, talk about limp into the WCF??

So take into consideration of what the Preds faced, are they that good?????

Weakened Hawks, Blues that 'could' have but didn't & a injured Duck.

Time will tell, but as I've asked previously, have they faced a team like the Pens yet???

- Aussiepenguin

every team has injuries.
I'm sure sid ain't 100%.

The ducks are super comparable to the pens. A really good team

I don't get how you can even question how good the preds are after last night.

They got a goal stolen from them on a silly technicality that coulda (and shoulda) went the other way.
You were given a 5 on 3 on a pretty soft call.
Came back from being down 3-0.
Held you shotless for 37 effin minutes.
And rinne, who's been pretty great thus far let them down.

Not saying you didn't deserve to win per se, just that it's strange you question their worth after last nights game

I don't care if they play well. I wanted the Preds to get through because I wanted a fast skating, skill oriented final. The Ducks played a pretty dirty series.

I was pissed Cole got that needless roughing penalty and Malkin with the slash. It's almost like they still thought they were playing the Sens.

It's been said before, with what you've described how many shots on goal did they have? Maybe that's all they can throw at us & they scored 3 goals - offside or not the count still says 3. All this talk about what 'could' have happened is pretty silly in my view. Hell, they may have counted that goal & the Preds think it's easy sailing & surrender 4? Could have? Might have?

If Gibson didn't get injured we could very well be playing the Ducks!

So my question will take some time to be answered - & the final scores will tell me what I'm looking for. Not Corsi, possession stats or shot counts.

This is the first I've ever seen a referee around here...are you like a mod? Do you have the power to ban people?

a healthy hags is big for the PK, and just good at helping to change momentum a bit from time to time. he has to still be fighting something.

as for who to sit, definitely either wilson or rowney. its a shame because they are both busting their balls big time out there. Wilson is just really dragging down malkin and kessel offensively at even strength.

- stayinthefnnet

I like what Sullivan has done rotating players through to have as many fresh guys as possible. Bringing in Hags to play with Malkin and Kessel would be good for a change up. I'd still keep Wilson in on the 3rd or 4th line as he has been the Pens most physical player. The best way to hamper the skilled D of Nashville is to continually take the body.

Rust and Hornquist have both been banged up a bit but after having light ice time on Monday I expect them to both play more minutes tonight.

I can see it. I'm still not sure how good they are offensively without Johansson. Defensively very good, but they aren't going to keep us from shooting for 37 minutes every game. That they only got 26 shots and one even strength goal with Murray not really having to make many difficult saves makes me think if they don't have another level offensively they will struggle to get more than 2 goals. If so, I really like our chances.

I've been saying the Pens have been lucky since the Caps series lol they got outplayed in 6 of the 7 games. Only time the Pens played well collectively as a team was in game 7. They were lucky to get out of that round alive. Same for game 1. Lucky as (frank). Lucky that the goal was overturned. Lucky that Bonino got that bounce. Lucky that they didn't have a shot for 37 minutes, but only gave up ONE goal. Lucky that Rinne poop the bed. (Although I think Rinne is gonna come down to earth throughout this whole series. But that's just me.)

Well he's wrong soooo. Pens have the talent and playoff experience to get out shot and spend more time on defense than offense but win because they pick their spots. Luck is just what simple people call things to complex for them to understand.

Luck involved for sure...one of their goals was luck too. Even still I dont feel the Preds were that dangerous in those 37 minutes. They only out shot the Pens by 2 in the 3rd and 3 in the 1st period. 26 shots in total isn't even a high amount...obviously higher than 12 but not alot of shots all considered, especially considering the Pens didnt have one for 37 minutes...

Preds are just so damn hard working. If the Pens can match their work ethic and energy I like the Pens chances.
