As of right now, this 2014 draft class is a 4 out of 10 at best. Maybe that will change but gets a failing grade IMO. While we can debate the Rhino vs Draisatl vs Ehlers thing all day long, where Murray really blew it was with those 3 2nd round picks. Not one of them is likely going to make an impact in the NHL. Probably 2 of 3 never play a game.

Jack Eichel tried his best to convince Cal Petersen to join the Buffalo Sabres organization.

"He's a great kid," Eichel said Wednesday. "I obviously told him that we'd love to have him. I just kind of gave him a bit of an earful about what Buffalo is like, how passionate the people were here and how great an organization it is." Petersen could represent USA Hockey in the 2018 Olympics if he decides to stay in school and play his senior season for Notre Dame. If he chooses to turn pro then he might be Rochester's starting goaltender in 2017-18.

Seeing it tonight again at 7:30. Then RPX 3D tomorrow night

-Lemieux, meh... should've taken Barbashev, but he probably would've been included in the trade instead of Lemieux, so no real biggie
-rest of the picks are mediocre at best
-and I still maintain that the worst decision GMTM made was drafting Cornel & Karabacek over Montour, Dougherty & McKeown

How different would Murray be looked st though if we'd won those 2 lottos though... and ended up with Ekblad & McDavid?

Treliving said the Flames would like to add a top-4 defenseman and that expansion could provide some interesting possibilities with some teams forced to make moves (like Anaheim and Minnesota). In saying that, Treliving noted the Flames will likely be a 7/3/1 protection team and adding a defenseman prior to the draft could be difficult as a result.

It seems like a bunch of teams will go after ANA/Minny for D men

One thing that helps us, is that we can take on a body that needs to be protected, in order to help a team out

That's the big thing though
Yes, there's a ton of teams who want to improve defense
But they can't make the moves that we can as far as the expansion draft is concerned bc they don't have the open slots that we do
Heck,
we could even trade for TWO defensemen & go the 4-4-1 route
Forwards- O'Reilly, Kane, Okposo, (and whoever, could even trade for a guy)
Defense- Ristolainen, McCabe, new guy, new guy

How great would that be?!

Starting to get sick of the Avengers movies
Hopefully DC can step it up
I actually liked Superman v Batman (unlike most)
Not that it was great, but it got trashed way more than it deserved imo
