I could of sworn there was a picture of Ovi from his childhood days wearing a Sabres jacket, assuming he idolized Mogilny growing up. We managed to get a meeting with Stamkos this past summer so maybe Ovi could be attracted to playing with one of Jack or ROR

That's fine. I don't have a problem with Ovechkin, but what we'd have to give up for him isn't worth it IMO. If we were close to being a SCF contender, maybe I'd figure out a way to make it work. Just doesn't seem like it would be a smart move based on the current state of the team.

I would do that in a second, but I have a hard time believing Washington would. In fact, I would see the team's owner nixing that deal, for no other reason than his ticket sales would plummet. If they were to trade him, which is a big if, unless he demands to be traded, he's either going to get some sort of big name in return, or a very high draft pick in a very good draft year.

So I love his offensive side, $9.5 for 4 more years. Hmm. Interesting. I guess we should play the "difference" game. Kane is around $6 (this year, but next contract should be around there), so $3.5 more. Is Ovechkin worth that much more? I tend to say yes, with Eichel feeding him one timers all day. He should score 50 again no problem.

Doesn't seem like enough but then you look at his contract and something in that kind of a deal may work however, isn't he 32 already ?

The Anaheim Ducks and assistant coach Paul MacLean have mutually agreed to part ways.
His contract came to an end at the end of the season. The former Jack Adams Trophy winner had been on his second tour of duty with the Ducks. He spent two years as an assistant coach with the team in the early 2000s before re-joining them in the summer of 2015. He shouldn't have a difficult time finding another assistant coaching gig in the NHL.

I agree. That is my concern is paying too much here and not being able to get Eichel and Rinehart signed. If this can be combined with a salary dump move to Vegas I could be on board.
