What are the odds that IF the Pens win the Cup that Crosby hands the Cup
A. to Fleury First!
B. Then Fleury hands it off to Murray
I think A is possible, but B is unlikely. - so_buzz11

Personally I would love to see him stay...I don't believe it is "giving up on" a player anymore so much as a business decision. A salary of $4 million sitting in the press box on a coaches decision may be something to see between the lines. Fleury and Hags salaries off the books clears a bit over $9 million. That is 9 million in salary space sitting on "pine" right now. |

So what do you feel about the Pens chances of
A) 3-peating?
B) 4-peating? |

Yes because its a what have you done for me lately society we live in. The fact is he hasnt been 100% since he returned. If he was 100% I dont think there'd be as many people ready to let him go. He's extremely effective when he has full foot speed. Gives other teams fits especially when he's on the PK. I said numerous times last season and last cup run that his lower production didnt bother me much because his defensive play was just so damn effective. |

Quotes not working, my comment on Bonnino not skating.
Dude, his ankle is swollen. He has it up and he is icing it so he can get his skate on. |

I love Hagelin. But he makes $4M against the cap and the Pens have a lot of players to re-sign. If the Pens bring back Kunitz they will have him, Sheary and Guentzel ahead on the depth chart and all on cheaper contracts. Wilson is more than capable on the 4th line.
If it comes down to dealing Hagelin to have the money to re-sign Bonino as a 3C its a good time to move him. |

If he's not the, by far, fastest skater on the ice - you can be sure he's playing injured... |

Well, no poop. Was just hoping he'd be at practice and maybe he dodged a bullet with that blocked shot. Obviously he didn't. I'm sure he'll still play though. |

We can afford to lose Maata, and his value has never been higher. He lacks size and strength to keep possession of the puck, average speed and shot, too many situational mistakes, positioning, and history of injuries. Flower will hopefully be a Penguin next year, as he should be. Haters will say its photoshopped. "People" talk about how "average" goaltending will win you the cup. Didn't seem to work out for Holtby, King Henry, Crawfish, Anderson, Price is right, and Rinne Catfish.
Off season moves UFA: Let dumpster fire Hainsey, Streit, and Daley, walk. Bonino will also likely walk for a payday, he plays well at times, other times below the metric, but keep him for $1.9M ballpark if available. If not, Carter Rowney will take his spot. Kunitz- Not sure where is at in terms of retirement and desire to keep playing, relatively quiet on that front. We already have Kunitz 2.0, his name is Scott Wilson. Kunitz can stay for under $1.9M. Additionally, Sprong will finally make the jump to the NHL as he's demolished the CHL. 3-4 line left wing? Pick one in Scranton.
RFA: Against better judgment, the Pens will resign Dumo, hopefully in the $2Mdollar range, but will likely over pay around $3-$4M. It's not that he is Rob Scuderi, but he is average. He doesn't make great plays, rarely scores, makes decent break out passes. Jerry McGuire Schultz, and show him the money. He should be around $4-$5M.
Pens should resign DPul in the $1M range and let him play. He is Olli Maata, but cheaper, and I honestly believe he has a better shot from the point. However, they will likely trade his rights and have abandoned his development. Classic Ray Shero syndrome. They have Rhuewdy, Warsofsky, etc, guys that can play the grey man on D without costing a fortune, while GMJR drafts quality replacements or finds them in undrafted free agency/overseas.

I did say IF.
AND, I agree that the Preds can turn this around very easily. They will be ready on Saturday.
Saturday may be the toughest game for the Pens to win!

He's a niceplayer to have, but is kind of an overpaid 3rd liner and the Pens have a plethora of guys who can play 3rd line LW. I'd like to keep him personally in hopes of getting back to our speed game next year, but I wouldn't hesitate to move him if there was a better use for that salary. |

aley is the insurance and top 6 D that we need. With Letang getting injured every year, Daley will supplant him. Who knows if Schultz stays and resigns? |

Don't think Kunitz is ahead of a healthy Hagelin on the depth chart. Ideally Kunitz will be 4th line LW next season. |

Might be recency bias on my part with Kunitz playing great the past 3 games while Hags has been on the bench. Regardless the spot on the depth chart, if I'll take Kunitz at $2m over Hags at $4m. |

The assumption is that if Fleury is exposed, he would be the player LV selects. - MacPatty
Makes sense. Unless LV would rather have Maatta/Schultz. |

I think Pens will be a 4/4 team. Schultz certainly won't be exposed. Probably guys like Cole and Hornqvist will be the best other options. |

I don't mind Daley back for 2 years 2-2.5 per
I like Bonino back for 3-4 years at 3.25-3.5 per
Kunitz 1 year - 1.75 over less
Not sure if any of that can get done. |
