He'd be great for Rochester as would Schneider...you need those types of players in the AHL |

Of the RFA group below, I wouldn't waste any ink on signing the two I bolded. I hope/assume some of the others are used as part of a package to get us another good d-man or two.
F, Marcus Foligno
F, Johan Larsson
F, Zemgus Girgensons
F, Evan Rodrigues
LW, Jean Dupuy
C, Justin Kea
D, Brady Austin
G, Robin Lehner
G, Linus Ullmark
In spite of Pach's column, I still say they should have signed Estephan and Possler. At least we drafted them and they show some potential. If/when we put a couple of other teams' rejects/plugs into Rochester and Estephan/Possler light it up elsewhere, there's going to be a few PO'd Sabres fans.

100% agree. But he would make an excellent beer league goalie in my town.

OK, fair enough regarding Possler. At the very least you sign Estephan and you let Depuy walk

regarding the great 8
the fact that the sabres were the team that opened the door for russians to play in the nhl has some meaning to him. pretty sure if on the trade block, there are 10-18 teams below us on his list - homiedclown
if they are willing to either a. eat half his salary or b. take on a bad contract, that would be a good starting point for a wash/buf trade...if not, botts has a d-man to find and go after |

from what I've heard, they like dupuy's skating much better...estephan's never improved to the point where it was considered pro-level |

I have seen enough of him
would rather grab an undrafted kid or a player leaving college |

what puzzles me with this kid
jb wants rochester to be good as well
even if he never sniffs the nhl, you need a few mancari's to make rochester good |

if, big if
if they are moving on from kane, and can land a 3 d man
then maybe you move pick 8 and ennis for AO
throw in a fasching or bailey, or a second rd pick from 2018
then again it may be all smoke |

I'm not gonna expend that much energy thinking about what to do with him...fact is there are six goalie spots and the sabres have two goalies signed right now--Kasdorf and johansson |

Not mad at all, declining to sign these two kids. It was obvious since 2014 that Possler had no interest in being here, since he always rejected the opportunity to join the prospect camps.
At first, I was hoping Estephan would sign, but after learning that his skating had not improved, I feel like you could find a free agent that has better skating and an equal amount of offensive potential. Estephan screams Varone to me, plenty of offensive talent but lacks the strength and speed to cut it in the NHL. Maybe some day he'll be a good AHL guy, but why does that kind of guy need to be signed? They're all over the place. Find someone you like more that can do more. |

I believe the thinking is they want to get faster organizationally...it doesn't look as if Estephan does that |
