With a couple seconds and thirds I wonder if we may try to push back into the 1st round and grab one of those mid-late round defenders. I see a lot of mocks having us take that Oettinger goalie in the 2nd though. - RhinoFan
Unless there's someone we REALLY like...
I think those picks should be used in a better way:
-part of a trade for top4 defense
-incentive for Vegas (or whoever) to take Moulson, etc
-draft defensemen to start building depth |

Is it REALLY a good thing that the Sabres have absolutely nothing to worry about in terms of an expansion team getting to select ONE player?
I find myself joyfully crying that we won't be losing an impact player....
...because we don't have any that fit the criteria.
I'm going to get a beer.....
We do have something to worry about. Losing Ullmark and Petersen most likely going elsewhere would hurt goaltending.

the 2nds and 3rds arent going to get us a top 4 guy. They really should just look at adding depth, hope one of those picks turns into our Guentzel |

It worked fine logistically I just didn't like how my style translated to the lower tuning. I play in drop g# regularly - chilliard77
That's not too bad. I personally think 1 step to 1 and a half sounds the best. Much lower than that and you're trying to hard. I watched a funny video of a guy playing a bunch of "metal" songs in C. It just sounded so weird. Another one was without distortion. |

Another thing I like about Drop G# is after the low 7, it's just a half step down from standard, which is my main tuning on my 6 string guitars |

There's a lot to accomplish this offseason. Will be interesting to see what GMJB can pull off, but we really need to see all 3 of those things happen this offseason to some extent. It'll just come down to the cost and benefit of each as it always does, but in a weak draft I just figured it may be less expensive to move up a grab a more solid d-prospect to go behind whoever at #8.
I'd probably trade both 2nds and 3rds for Moulson to be gone. I think his contract or lack thereof is that impactful...but if no one bites, I won't be upset at Hague or Brannstrom for (2) 2nds. |

Leddy & Boychuck went for 2s & 3s I believe
Possibly as PART of a package, like say with Minny where we also take Pominville off their hands so they can protect Zucker
But yeah, if that can't happen...
we need to draft defensemen badly
As far as finding our Guentzel...
I'm ready to see Baptiste get a look
And Pu had a really nice season
I'd also be ok if we were to use a non-1st to acquire a forward that some team can't protect... Nash, Zucker, Boone Jenner, Eberle (they just want him gone)
I think the Preds leave both Neal & Aberg unprotected (4-4-1) and keep Jarnkrok as their 4th forward bc they're so thin there after Johansen
Defense is obviously top priority though |

Most I'd give up to have Moulson gone is a 2nd
And that's even a lot
I'd rather have Bailey or Baptiste in the lineup,
but if Moulson is on the 4th line & PP2 I can live with him
He can be bought out after this year
It would really be helpful if Ennis & Bogosian would rebound this year
That way we could get something for them instead of likely having to pay someone to take their contracts off our hands

IF the sabres are in a win now mode, which I'm not sure they are, I could see an offer of our 1st and MIN 2nd to LV for to take Moulse in the expansion draft while sending us back a top dman than MIN or ANA can't protect. This team really isn't that far away from contending. Adding A Brodin type dman, along with Antipin an Guhle arguably infuses us with two top 4 dmen and a 5-6 dman. Use the Moulsen money for a PK forward, and we're talking contention. |

Botterill is going to get busy reshaping this team.
New coach, new players, new style of play and new attitude.
I think the team will be more fun to watch next year, but I don't see the Sabres in the playoffs right away.
Tampa Bay and Florida are more likely than we are to join the playoff race, and I don't see 3 of the 4 teams that made it this year falling out next year.
IN - Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Tampa Bay, Florida
OUT - Boston, Detroit, Buffalo
Hopefully Botterill will have all the pieces in place for a serious run by 2018-2019.

if you cant or dont want to re-sign him its about value. Although in LA's case i think they're just trying to see if they can get him at 50 cents on the dollar |

That's what Ek said. They weren't really trying to get him, just seeing if they could poach him cheap. |

Ottawa looked good in the playoffs, but barely squeaked by in the regular season... they're no sure thing imo
Everything went right for the Leafs... I listen to Fan590 radio outta Toronto, and there's been multiple times they've said the places could've easily been switched if it was us that stayed healthy & them who had all the injuries
I know Montreal won the division, but their defense seems average, and their offense seems average (maybe below even)... can Price continue to carry them? I think they're in the group who either just make it or just miss next year
Gotta think Tampa bounces back. They should win the division.
Florida has a lot of questions to be answered before I'll put them back in the playoffs... especially who their starting goalie is next year, & if it's Luongo, how much longer can he be effective. He's 38
I think Boston drops out too, but if their young defensemen step up big for them they could make a run.
Detroit is in a world of hurt... they should start a tank/rebuild asap
It all depends on how we upgrade the defense imo
Buffalo gets 1 more solid top4 guy & we contend
Two top4 guys & I think we are in for sure
2 defensemen & a legit winger for Jack (Nash, Jenner, etc) and we could potentially battle for the division
We aren't as far away as it seems
Ottawa took the Pens to game7 OT for a chance to go to the Cup
Were they much better than us when the playoffs started?
I don't think so

We we're talking about grocery stores and Gerbe said Wegmans "had the better meet department". This happened a while ago, last year maybe. Time kind of all blends together to me.
I had it as my location until he did the weird thing where he asked if I had Snapchat and then refused to talk about it further and then I think it was you that said he wanted to send me pictures of his ding dong.
I think someone else has it as theirs too, but I had it first so I don't care. The guy with The Great Gazoo as their avatar I believe. - Wetbandit1
That was me.
