Moving over priced , poopty talent is just as Hard nowadays as getting great young talent on sweet contracts.
How you figure to do that?

I am not sure how Carrier is not protected? Like, when you get to 6 and 7 (forwards to protect) it gets like "whatever"

This is my list in order of protection:
Okoposo (because of NMC he has to be protected)
O'Reilly
Kane (if not traded)
Larsson
Girgensons
Foligno
Carrier

Maybe protect Ennis over Carrier, but if they take Ennis I think I would be happier (cap hit that I want gone).

Do we get to know the full details of the transactions or do we just find out the players Vegas gets and then hear third hand snippets of how it happened? I'm guessing fewer than half the players selected will be straight up selected. I think the majority will be deals made with Vegas. Mcphee still has to run this team so he's not going to want to alienate the rest of the GMs. He still has to work with them. I think Botterill will be able to move bogo or moulson

For my understanding, the list of players protected will be released before Vegas selects and if any "deals" were to happen, that will be released trades as well. So we should know from the NHL either way who they choose.

How about Jason Botterll, dont announce until the round is over because people in a city that dont have a team in the playoffs might take about him instead of playoffs. Weak.

According to general manager George McPhee, the Vegas Golden Knights are willing to take on players with high cap hits - for a price.

McPhee told the Las Vegas Review-Journal the Golden Knights have been offered high-figure contracts from teams looking to get under the salary cap and the Knights aren't against spending the money for a return.

“We have a lot of teams offering us big contracts,” McPhee said. “We’ll take a few of those, for the right price.”

Certainly seems possible id give up a second and a third to Vegas to get rid of Bogo, not as impossible as it seems, just have to pay the price
