(Copied from last thread since it seems relevant)

I can see them trying to package some of those picks to move up.

round 1 - 1(2nd)
round 2 - 1 (44)
round 3 - 2 (75, 80)
round 4 - 3 (106, 107, 108) That should be fun if they keep them all
round 5 - 1 (137)
round 6 - 1 (168)
round 7 - 2 (199, 200)

Its going to be an exciting day because I see Hexy trying to use some of these pick assets to either move up, or maybe even more likely, to get some higher picks in NEXT years draft which looks to be a stronger class overall.

I'd like to see them package picks two times in this draft. My fear is that a few years from now they just aren't going to have the roster spots available to sign the guys you hope they're signing (picks from the first three to four rounds)

The last thing I want to see is a trade for a defenseman. Unless the trade is literally they send Player X to us for say a 4th round pick, and at the entry draft we send the Player back to them for a 2nd round pick.
- youarewrong

Yeah, they specifically have been building through the draft to avoid dealing for defenseman. Need to see what these kids have got first before giving up assets to effectively replace them.

Bill, unless Winnipeg opts for the 8/1 protection method, they will lose one of Trouba or Myers (both Byfuglien and Enstrom have NMCs). I love Trouba no doubt, but I think Tyler Myers could be had. I don't think he'll ever repeat his rookie year, but would be a nice guy to put into our top-4 next year.

I want absolutely nothing to do with Tyler Myers. Very overrated.

Dont want or need either of them. Vatanen won't even be able to play until maybe November/December.

Overrated and bad are not the same thing. I agree on the overrated part, though.

Injuries have also been a huge factor. If WPG wanted to give him to us for a 4th, sure.

That's okay, we've got Jason Bowen to take us to the Cup.

It's amazing how much the D changed from 92/93 to 94/95.

So Ek is reporting that LA is offering their 1st round pick, 11th overall, to LV just to unload Dustin Brown.

I'm calling bullpoop on ya, EK. Why would a franchise that needs to get younger and faster give up a high 1st rounder just to lose a bad contract? I don't think any team is moving a first just to unload a contract. Stop making crap up.

Yup, Yuskeyvich was the only holdover and he was gone after 94-95.

Doesn't his MNTC mean he has to be protected?

Yup, he'd have to agree to waive it to be traded.

malgunas had a good year then tore his knee up, think was nee anyway. he wasn't that bad. McGill served hid role well at the time. bruiser bottom pairing dman. Flyers have had worse after them.

And they had worse before them to, but man, the entire group from 92-94 was just flat out awful.

If I were the Jets I would go 7/3 and get Enstrom to waive. If he won't do that, I'd just leave Myers unprotected. His recent injury history is awful.
