It was either that or beer.
He is a man of simple yet elegant taste. |

There is a gang of high school kids with 3 or 4 of those stupid (frank)ing trucks that hang out down the street in the wawa parking lot every night. They shoot paintballs at signs and cars sometimes too. - Mordecai

Again, if someone shot them (and didn't kill them) for it...I might not be happy because they're kids, but I wouldn't really be sad either. - jmatchett383

That's a good one, although I have a particular dislike for McGillis. I still remember during the deadline that year they got him having everyone say that a Clarke was going to make a move for a goalie and everyone thought it'd be Curtis Joseph from Edmonton. Trade deadline day comes and I'm listening to the radio and get my hopes up when I hear the "Flyers have traded with Edmonton for......Dan McGillis" |

To me, he wasn't a difference maker the way a CuJo would have been in his prime. My dislike is more of the move than the player. Those late-90s teams were lacking in a shut-down goalie (save for Boucher in 00) and it makes me wonder what might have been. Sorry for rambling a bit. |

Compared to the other players mentioned, he is somewhere between Hall of Famer and minor deity. |

The only Flyers jersey I ever had was their original black 3rd jersey with no name on it. I kind of wish they'd bring that one back. |

If that's the case, Luke Richardson has to be a notch above. |

Richardson was okay. He was better than I expected, but McGills was a better skater with more offensive pop. McGillis was a better hitter, Richardson was a better fighter.
Edit: Extra nod to Richardson as the player that Tie Domi hid behind Tomas Kaberle from. |

Luke got paid like a top-2 d-man and while he wasn't, he brought it every night. I'd take that over AMac any day. |

So with Anaheim being pretty much backed into a corner what do you think it would cost to pry Sami Vatanen? Schenn +?

I'm not sure. I'd think they went ED-exempt players and picks. But Vatanen isn't what I'd got for. Too much money and too long of a term. I'd rather get guys on shorter terms or lower cap hits. I don't want to block our young guys, just make it easier to work them in. That's how I view it. |
