I have to use the Reinhart trade as an example of Chiarelli's ability to get something for our first round pick. Its the only example where he has tried to get a more established defender using picks. I agree it is one of the worst trades ever. That is what he does. That is why I don't trust him to get value back for any of our assets. He is an absolutely brutal GM. Yes he did get us Talbot and Kassian but those were dumb luck.
He over paid for Talbot for what he was. A backup with a handful of starts on a good team that had great stats. Even Chiarelli gave up on him after only a few games with the Oil. It was Talbot that earned his starting role back. It was Talbot that made himself the goalie he is today. Not same great insight from Chiarelli.
Kassian was Montreal's trade. One that also could have went horribly wrong. A player that Montreal deemed so toxic to their dressing room they wouldn't let him near it but our GM figured that wasn't a problem for us. Kassian became a fan favorite during the playoffs but real Oiler fans know that he is a liability as well. He could be a lot better if he could stop taking stupid penalties and play more like he did in the playoffs, all the time. Montreal needed a goalie. Scrivens was paid too much to be a back up and apparently Chiarelli doesn't know what a backup goalie is anyways. Montreal offered, Chiarelli accepted. Kassian sucked. Again it was Kassian that developed amidst this young team that apparently has really gelled as a group. He brought his game up. Not giving Chiarelli credit for dumb luck.
His terrible moves out number his good so unless we are hoping for dumb luck I say we draft the third Strome brother. - Hall Fan

Cam was never worth more than a 7th...
If Lundqvist didn't have a NMC, it's possible Cam would've been NYR's starter now. |

Puppet? Lol...that sounds what you call anyone that doesn't follow the herd? I don't sh arena the same opinions with Iggy, But because I respect his right to an unpopular opinion I'm a puppet. Good God, man, you needent try so hard to cement your reputation as the gayest poster on this site. You nailed that years ago with way less effort. Go back to over analyzing the mythology of the Star Wars universe. - Larsson_fan
You are so full of poop. Seriously. You fully endorse his opinions and his attitude just like the sock puppet you are. Anyone that dares differ in opinion is attacked by you and the hand that is up your ass. You don't "go your own way". You are thoroughly just a little puppy that can't form a thought until he hears it else where...that you act like it was your idea all along. You're pitiful jeremy. |

This coming from the guy who thinks the Oilers need to expose Nurse and that the Lightning will lose Hedman to Vegas in the same expansion draft.
