I think we need to add a LW and people are talking like Kane is not needed

if he is not needed by a team that has not won a playoff series in over 10 year, how is he going to land a big fish for our blueline?

You keep Kane and add to the roster, you don't trade him. We still are trying to get better correct ?

How much better can we get though if we pay him as much as it will take to keep him?

6 mill it might take to keep him but we have to start moving this team in the right direction and you need a player (s) like Kane. Have to spend on someone. Lucic is at 7 a year, Kane will be worth 6 no matter if we pay him or another team but it should be the Sabres. We should add to him, i'd trade Nylander in a heartbeat with the 8th pick to get a stud D man.

I still want to know how the 29th best scoring LW from last season is a 3rd liner on most teams

After listening to Mackenzie I think we need to move on from Kane because he's not going to be here

or we could keep nylander at a fraction of the price and move kane and the 8th. Who knows maybe nylander even plays a full season!

Multiple reliable sources, on another site, saying Maclin has signed with Buffalo, The Bills win announce once the contract is approved by the league.

Greedy, but, sign Barnage and either Byrd or Revis for safety and we can make NE sweat.

Not sure if it's wise to have a guy who would be a third liner on a good team as your captain. After Eichel pulled his hissy fits last year, not sure if he's captain material either. I guess that's why the Sabres missed the playoffs by a mile last year

That's a good one. Lets take a look at a few "good" teams and see where ROR slots in.

Chicago- 2nd line centre, behind JT.
Nashville-1st line centre (since RJ is out)
Washington-2nd line centre
Rangers-Probly first line over Stepan
I cant see him on the third line of many teams except ones like Pittsburgh or Edmonton, who have 2 ridiculously good centremen.
ROR is a very good player, not sure where he a third liner comes from....

People look at his off ice stuff and completely discount the good he does on the ice. Kane could score 50 goals by the TDL and people will still say hes worthless or you should just get what you can. It seems no matter what he will always carry that stigma that he did a few bad things off the ice and is clearly a human piece of garbage. Its sad some cant take off the hate colour glasses and see that Kane is a hell of a player. If he pots 25-30 a year but only plays say 60 games and has 10 assists, I could care less, let Rhino get the assists, Kane is here to score and he is doing just that.

Was thinking that as well. ROR is not a generational talent or anything, but he is a very effective player in all ends on the ice IMO.

Nope I wouldn't pull the trigger! The age difference is major and Kanes game would be hard to replace he is a unique player for sure and yes he has office issues but his game is great. If he wouldn't sign a reasonable extension then id consider trading him but not for Muzzin or Martinez..... Id consider one of the Ducks young defenseman and try and snag a depth player too or maybe fabricate a trade with Minnesota..... Vancouver has some interesting defenseman as well but it seems Benning is a little pricey right now so I don't know
