Jake Muzzin is better at his position than Kane is at his, and that isn't remotely debatable.
Now, the only stipulation would be paying Muzzin in 2 years. - sbroads24
True but what about Kane in one? He'll be looking for 6×6 at least! So their's so many tangible things that can happen? What about just signing a couple of free agents til some of the younger guys are ready? B.smith and M.stone, MDZ,their's a few depth guys there! |

Hey Mike idk you guys (like us)are still rebuilding and unless it's something that you couldn't say no to,I'd keep the pick and draft the best player available! Preferably a dman, but be wary of rushing the process! And I'm sure you talking about a young dman! - MR.Hunter
really have no problems with them selecting bpa at this year's draft, good chance they'll be able to land a d-man like liljegren at No. 8 |

One made team Canada the other had 43 Pts. Muzzins shot suppression numbers are among the best in the league, ideal for ristolainen |

How so?
He actually has more points as a freaking D man over the last 3 years than Kane does as a FWD, he's actually incredibly durable playing 82 games 2x over the past 3 years.
He's known for his defense first, but actually scores.
He actually played for Team Canada where Kane hasn't sniffed an invite.

I can't wait until Kane is either traded or re-signed
Next Erik Karlsson would be an underpayment for our 60 goal from December to December superstar |

he made the world cup of hockey team in 2016 and was on the world team in 2015
Kane made Canada WC team in 2010 and 2011
and kane lead the team in 5v5 scoring and was 16th in the league |

Ya I think he would be a good pick up! But at the expense of who?Kane I would do! Then sign a free agent B.smith, adding muzzin, Smith, Antipin, and drafting a dman, not a bad off season! Imho |

you've hated on kane from the get-go and never hid that fact...no matter what he does, it will never be good enough for you...
i'm not dissing muzzin as I happen to like his game, but since 2014 he's fallen down the depth chart a bit on a team that missed the playoffs last season and has missed them two of the last three years |

I honestly thought he was going to single-handedly lose the cup for them last time they were there. He looked spooked and shaky and I'm positive Doughty brings him up a few notches and bails him out on a lot.
Honestly, If I was playing with Karlsson, Subban, Doughty type of guys, I'd look like a solid defender, too. All I would have to do is clear the zone and pass to them if I was in trouble. - BeadyEyedDouche

A. No he hasn't. He was #2 in ice time for Kings D men
B. He was one of 20 D men to receive at least one Norris vote in 2016
C. So, Kane and others can be given a pass because of our coaching, but Muzzin who was under a coach last year who was also fired does not? |

he was on the top pairing in 2014 and was on the second pairing last season...that's a bit of a drop
and...
I mentioned that I liked muzzin and his game...just pointing out, like people often do here, is that his team didn't make the playoffs in two of the last three seasons...
you still didn't address the fact that you have always hated kane on the sabres and this post does nothing to change my view on that |

We would be absolutely shafting the Kings if we could get Muzzin for an unsigned Kane |

Muzzin has 3 years at 4 million left, you would hope by then you have a prospect to step in. |

What does my view on Kane have to do with Muzzin being a better player?
If this was polled outside of Buffalo, I'm not sure many if any people think Kane would be the better player |

So what? We got shafted in the trade that them sent McNabb for DeLo and Fasching. |

kane had a 28 goal season last year...that ain't chopped liver...and 25 of them were 5v5, which was quite the feat on buffalo...
is that worth anything? |

It's worth a #3/4 D man or decent prospect.

Jason Botterill is the GM, and we haven't hired our coach yet, Jack is just a player, he doesn't make the decisions, as he has stated every time a reporter asks him about his involvement in Bylsma's firing. |

Tell me about it. That trade looks horrible looking back, unless somehow Fasching becomes a different player. |
