Ratings. The same reason every nationally televised game in the States involves either Pittsburgh or Chicago. Follow the money, Paul.

"Crosby mangles a player’s finger with a vicious slash… oh… he didn’t mean it."

He meant to slash him for sure. On the stick as he was shooting, sticks follows Methots stick follows through smashed finger. I'm pretty sure Sens players saw this too.
"[Crosby] puts his stick in as [Methot] is trying to shoot the puck in and unfortunately it hits his finger," Karlsson said. "It turns out worse than most other times, plays like that happen all the time, but I don't think it was intentional or dirty."
GET OVER IT

"Slams someone’s head into the ice, again and again and again… oh… he was just trying to escape and besides… that player had it coming. "

PK has a helmet on. His head doesn't touch the ice.

"Tosses a water bottle out on the ice… "

That should have been a penalty.

"Slewfoots an opponent…"

PK loves this move.

Wow...some sour grapes there.
Although I agree with your assessment of Crosby deserving more in his scrum with PK, C'mon Man...there is sooooo much stuff not getting called (Both ways) in every game in every series. Complain about the OWNERS wanting all this stuff to continue, because they are the ones that control what the league does with the help of their puppet Garry B.

Just curious, have the preds ever been able to be hit without two-handing the guy who hit them? Can we call this no call "The Pred's Rule"?

I love that you say crosby was "slamming" PK's bead when the video shows it to be minor and PK is holding him. Would Pen's fans be upset, of course, but there wouldn't be a whole article whining about it. Where's your outrage on PK's slewfoots throughout the years, punching Crosby in the head in game 1, and missing 10,000 blatant slashing calls where your players are even looking at the ref expecting a call? No mention? Pot meet kettle.

This is my favorite take from this writer. That play happens dozens of times a game - SOOOO vicious.

Just saying...Shea Weber slamming Zetterberg's face into the glass WWF-style was worse than anything that's been done in this series, and I'm pretty sure that didn't garner any supplemental discipline.

And I loved him for it.

Yeah, no star in Nashville ever got star treatment... ever.

2500$ fine, that equates to about 14$ for Weber.

I respect most everything about Nashville and the Predator franchise with the exception of the homer, whiny public address announcer.

I'm sorry but Milbury was spot on correct.

PK is playing his game which is getting under the skin of the big guns and I'll bet he's out there yapping the entire time.

When i saw Crosby pin his head to the ice repeatedly, it made me laugh out loud. I loved every second of it and replayed it three times.

I would have done the exact same thing until the Referee's arm went up.

Loved.

That was indeed epic and typical playoff officiating. Proof the officiating has been bad for a long time.

Milbury is one of th biggest Pens hater's in the media. (you can add Eddie O to that list as well) I have no idea how that conclussion was reached!!!!
This is a league issue, Lemieux and Gretz had enforcers. The league has fazed that out. You can blame the media all uyou want, this is an NHL issue. They allow the Marc Methot and Brandon Dubinsky's of the world to cheap shot, hold, slew foot et... with zero consequences. In this series the Preds have done it to the Pens and visa versa. Your issue is with the league, that clearly needs a consistent and coherant discipline policy. (Read Ryan Wilson's blog)

What another atrocious, whiny blog. It sounds like Paul and James Tanner drink the same liberal diluted punch.

Every blog turns into rant about how the Penguins shouldn't be where they are, yet they are. How each team is better than them, yet they aren't. How Sid get's special treatment, yet he doesn't/ Crosby is a crybaby. Yes, Sid is the best player in the world, and has nothing to do with make up calls. PK Subban is a goon, much like the Slueth Foot Brad Marchand. Sure he donates to charity in Montreal, but he was also traded for a reason. He's unprofessional. Screaming "FU" to the crowd in PGH, well before any of this happened. I mean he comes from a place where they throw catfish on the ice. An unprofessional city, and there is no place for it in hockey. It should be a bench minor and a delay of game, every time they throw one. Sid thew a water bottle, ref didn't see it. What about the too many men call on Nashville missed, in previous game, or in Ottawa against the Pens. Should the rules go back to call missed penalties?

It's ironic how nothing was written when Nashville was winning 2 games back to back, with James Neal taking deliberate slashes to Daley and others, yet I'm sure it's just part of the game. However when PK is holding onto Sid's leg like a baby not wanting to let go of daddy, he's being protected. Also, if you ever watched NBC, you would know that Milbury has been the most critical of Crosby and the Penguins, not favoring them. So clearly, it's being noticed by anyone not blinded by Nashville's golden run thats about to end.

It's ok that Nashville took a beating. It happens to everyone.

Crosby should have received an extra 2 and the ref standing there should have blown the whistle earlier, instead of waiting until Crosby lost his advantage and Subban had him in a head lock.
Just have to accept the fact that superstar players are always going to be allowed to dish out more than they receive..you don't have to like it.

Bottom line is Pittsburgh flat out smoked Nashville last night... hurts to say that, I'm a self admitted poor loser.. 27 years in the Army conditions you for that..

Based on the energy in Nashville I certainly hope the Preds win game 6. for 3 reasons.. game sevens are amazing, I want Preds to win and... Unfortunately the Penguins skating the Cup around Bridgestone would cause the select few bad apples to shed poor light on Nashville

Some people would probably be outraged. I wouldn't be. Sid was pushing his head with his stick hand. I thought it was pretty clear that he was trying to get free from Subban.

You mean like when PK straight up punched Crosby in the back of the head in Game 1 with no call? Yes, people did want him suspended. But if the refs are going to let that go with not even a minor penalty, then I think it's unfair to call Crosby out for face washing while Subban has a death grip on his leg.

I do think that Crosby gets unfair protection, but so did Gretzky, Lemieux, even Lindros. This is nothing new.

The bold would matter if Crosby was actually trying to free himself. As it was he was happy to stay right where he was

But if the ref called the holding, prior to the face washing, Pittsburgh should have been on the PP. Why wait until Subban lost his advantage?

Just curious where he's going to go when the guy is holding his ankle/leg with both arms and laying on his stick? Even if he drops his stick, he's not getting up.

Again, how would he try to free himself? By pushing a players head that's holding him down? Would you prefer he start kicking with the leg Subban isn't grabbing on to?

First off he would need to actually try to free himself before any conversation about freeing himself can occur. This is ridiculous. Crosby was making no attempt to get away. He was looking up and around the ice as he continued to introduce Subban's helmet to the ice. Not once does he struggle to free himself.

I don't have a dog in this fight. Crosby is what he is and dishes out what he receives, same with Subban. It's hockey, and in no way am I arguing for supplemental discipline or any of that crap. But it is ridiculous to sit here and say that Crosby couldn't free himself when he wasn't even trying to free himself.

What the hell is a leg death grip???
I really don't care who wins, I like Subban, I like Crosby so I have no bias. Sid is sitting on Subban, Subban is holding onto Sid. Thats not a face wash and sure as hell not a death grip on his leg, again whatever that is... my point is if thats Sid on the bottom of the pile Ryan is writing a blog about how dirty Subban is and the contact to Sids head deserves a suspension. Its all relative depending on what side of the fan fence you sit in...
