I don't see a reason to trade lehner unless it's to appease Peterson. For all the flack he gets, I believe our goalie tandem was top 10 in sv% - jcragcrumple
i don't know that this appeases peterson and honestly i don't want to see peterson in the NHL this season.. if he is here one of two things happened. 1) our goalie tandem sucks and we didn't get another goalie B) he over achieved and is ed belfour.. if i had to put money on it i would bet on 1 99 out of 99 times |

That would be so Buffalo. Trade their starter for a young buck who ends up taking a crap on them and goes somewhere else anyways. |

If sabres get housley, they will make another pitch to Peterson.he is not holding a gun to sabres head about being on the NHL roster.he likes the idea of picking where he lives and plays |

thats kind of what i figured.. i would think if he knows whats best for him he would not want to go to a situation where he will play in the nHL. he would be a back up and it would be better for him to start in the AHL.. if he is even ready for that |

Von Dudenstein, what happens if Housley says no thank you? They go in complete scramble mode? Russ Brandon the next coach of the Sabres? |

That would be the only reason i would trade Lehner. I think he's really good. For some reason, the shootout got in his head last year, but i don't see that as a major problem, even assuming he can't fix that. |

I disagree, watch lehner. He is always on his knees and almost tenses body when shot is taken. He is hoping puck hits him. He didn't make hardly any great glove saves and the reason why he is bad on shootouts,he is a fish out of water. He has been a big goalie that covers a lot of the net,not great skills |

I don't mind moving on from Lehner, but Ullmark isn't a good back-up plan. |

I don't care what they do with Lehner, as long as he signs a bridge deal |

I like Lehner, it's just what kind of money he's looking for. Anything much over 4, and I'm passing |

Pittsburgh for sure tanked for Lemieux. So did New Jersey, the Pens just did it "better".
The Penguins did NOT tank for Crosby. The team was lousy and in financial trouble. Plus, the lottery was already in place---they lost the "ovechkin" lottery and had a lottery for which all 30 teams were eligible after the lockout season. Explain to me how they tanked during a season in which no games were played? |

I think that is how every goalie is taught these days, not sure its right or wrong but most goalies are just big now and flop into the butterfly and hope the puck hits them.

First, does a NTC or NMC come into play with an expansion draft? If not, then I would leave the following unprotected:
Moulson
Ennis
Jorges
Bogosian
Deslauriers
Larsson

I still remember watching this draft lottery live and praying that Pittsburgh would get the #1 pick.
Mario had just stepped in to try and save the team, the NHL was on a serious downturn, just coming off an ugly lock out, and I did not want to see my hometown guy in a friggin Ducks uniform. Crosby to the Pens was good for the NHL. Mario's comeback and Sid the Kid vs Ovi made for great TV viewership in the US which was at a serious low at the time. Remember ESPN dumped the NHL like a bad habit around the same time as the lock out?

See ya later. They may be starting high, but no way I give him that much, nothing even close. |
