They won a game where they went 37 minutes without a shot on goal.
They won another game where the refs blew a whistle early.
They won a series where they were out played in 6 of the 7 games against WSH
They were very fortunate to win the cup this year.
Pittsburgh probably didn't tank to get Crosby, not like with Lemieux. If anything they were tanking to get Ovechkin - which obviously they didn't. With the 04-05 season canceled no one actually "finished" in last place. They were lucky enough to win the lottery and get Crosby, and isn't this were the whole league favoring the Penguins began with the rigging of the lottery?

Maybe, but you could also just point to dumb luck.
They won a game where they didn't get a shot on goal for 37 minutes.
They won another game when the refs blew a whistle too quick
They won a series against WSH where they were outplayed and out chanced every game of the 7 game series.
Great team, but probably shouldn't have been in the finals let alone win the cup.

I lost a lot of respect when the crosby lottery was done behind closed doors, frankly all of them at the time
crosby saved the franchise - homiedclown
When I was watching the lottery and it was down to Anaheim and Pittsburgh I thought for sure the rig would be in for the Ducks. It would have been the second coming of Gretzky to the west coast. I don't think any owners would stand for a lottery that big being rigged. They all would have wanted it rigged in their favor.

Bills fans need not to hang their heads on if he signs here. He's good, but not great. But suddenly he's become the tunnel vision focus of fans. The Bills are going nowhere this year, and that's fine. Yeah it's been 17 years, but it was also 17 years of horrible decision making. Let's think winning the offseason with one injury ridden receiver fixes that. - Buffalo--Sabres
the bills have had a very good offseason
it's unlikely they are in the playoff hunt for weeks 16 and 17, but they have made some strong moves IMO

whenever it's done behind closed doors, it smells shady
While I agree to a certain extent, the WR corp was probably the biggest question mark for the Bills going into the draft.
Watkins and his health
Robert Woods gone
Fast man who only catches deep balls gone (can't remember his name, I'm hungover)
and then a bunch of no names
IF (big if) Watkins is healthy
Maclin signs here would probably be one of if not the best #2 wideouts in the league
Jones the rookie would have time to be the #3 and ease into it. - Stripes77
I just think they aren't going to accomplish much this year regardless. And then throw another receiver contract on that won't help. I just feel like a Maclin deal will be like the Moulson deal for the Sabres. Seems like a cool idea at the time, but then the very next season you're wishing you had that money free'd up to do something more productive.
GMJB is talking to MAF about coming to Buffalo while talking to GMJR about taking Kane in return.

If that happens I almost say the Pens will repeat again. Murray is a stud in net and another power forward on that team? Getting Letang back too could be scary.

Yes they have. They've been responsible for once. But they aren't getting past the champs unless that team totally collapses. And even then it's uphill. I just think it's time to settle in for another boring season of Bills football and hope things get better in the future.

it's gonna be a 1 year deal
probably 6 million
not going to hurt the team long or short term at all

Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL...if he doesn't work out he gets cut unlike Moulson who the Sabres seem to be pretty much stuck with
