NJ was worse than us, so Taylor Hall and Corey Schneider are not great players?

Colorado was worse than us, Nathan McKinnon, Duchene, Landeskog are not great players.

This is just silly. I think we know coaching (or team accepting the coachs direction) and defense was our large weak point this year (and injuries which is never a complete excuse).

I am not saying any of those guys are "great players" but great players are on bad teams all the time.

I am not directly comparing Reinhart to Drouin or anyone. But I will reiterate what you are saying.

If Reinhart has better line mates (including d men to get shots to the net, he is amazing in front of the net) he would be putting all sorts of points up. His in to the net game is great. I know it is different eras but Anderchuck was pretty good in front of the net and very slow, but is still regarded as a good / great player. Sure he is not super fast and electric, but a good player. They dont ask how, they ask how many!

Eichel is our best, yes (at 20). But when Sam was drafted, no one said "look out, best player on your team right away!"

That is a good thing that he does not have to be the best player on our team at that age. Maybe one day he will be the 2 or 3rd best forward on the team, but that is the extra beauty of Eichel, he is not expected to be the savior.

I'd like to see 23 with Bailey and Baptiste for a good 5 game stretch. It could be smoke and mirrors, but it sounds like housley wants Ennis in the top 6. Idk if he really believes Moulson is top 6 or if they're trying to pump up his value. All things being equal, I'd expect:

Reinhart is exactly who I thought he would be. Compared him to RNH when he got drafted. A good 50-60 pt guy who plays defense. Said that he didn't have the makeup of a #1 center and we needed to tank to get one of McEichel. Then some people on here compared Reinhart to Malkin, said that we shouldn't get obsessed with a shiny new toy in McEichel, called Reinhart skunk, and bashed anyone that said Reinhart wouldn't have 70 assists.

Reinhart is fine to me, hes exactly what I expected. The thing with a lot of posters on here is they think everyone we get is gonna be so much better then they probably will be. Need to stop being homers and be realistic.

at this stage in the game i don't think ennis is a top line player.. unless somethign changes in him
